  1. Got one of these on eBay back in the day, It's a Kyosho outlaw rampage, should have a pickup shell bit i never came across one for a descent price. got it for
  2. A shell I'd like to see would be a lancia delta s4, or a proper scale looking Quattro shell. Slightly smaller wheels and a realistic tread pattern and it'd be all Eyeball.
  3. Well i don't know yet i'll find that out when the auction ends, but i'm open to sensible offers and i'll end the auction early. and regarding the video i don't think i ever got a video while it was running which is a shame, was a beast to watch on track. put the other monster trucks to shame.
  4. on a 99p start, no reserve I cant explain how well this chassi drives when it's running, the suspension took me months to figure out and set up, did a few races with it and dominated on the track. just enough time to get it running for the summer season. makes a Menatally strong basher too. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321306813643
  5. Ever get that feeling your RC doesn't love you, when it keeps spitting out that pesky grub screw? ever think you've made it mad, when the screws pull out of the skidpad? do you think it knows when to make the tire foams explode? when the car jumps up and tries to hurt me. maybe i shouldn't have put it away dirty.
  6. The value for a ready to fire up car like that depends on how old it is, the newer the chassis design the more value it holds as club racers will still want to get their hands on them. looks more like a team magic g4js certainly worth
  7. It's a very expensive race orientated chassis. wouldn't use it for drifting as it's a bit too nice.
  8. Might be old Hongnor rtr tires, the truggies used to come with a slightly hard compound bowtie knockoff. and they get flatspots really easy...
  9. well, as you can probably tell the Yokomo has hit the back burner. but it's not dead yet. just picked up a HotBodies cyclone tc touring car for
  10. Only one of these i've had was buying from another member on this forum, he was selling a yokomo drift car and it took a sweet while to arrive, i was getting impatient at this point when a small packet popped through the door.... a full hex screw kit from the seller, emailed him asking what was up and he said he was sorry, took him a little while to get his hands on the car again and he eventually sent it to me and told me to keep the screws. awfully nice of him
  11. Another update. Spent another 3 hours making bits and pieces trying to get more lock, think I've done a good job. shocks are the restricting point so maybe i'll try and relocate them. Here's the build Here's the lock now.
  12. Haven't had the chance yet as i am still without a radio, also need some new wheels with a slightly wider offset, as the ones on the car don't quite fit the body. so it needs 9mm offset. should give me a little more room, just going to see what scraps i have left to do a conversion like that one, Don't think i'm too far off.
  13. you guys got any guides to getting extra lock from a hub system like this then? or will i have to do some serious chopping and changing... which isn't an issue.
  14. Yeah, modified the steering a while ago, just made some arm extensions out of some old fiberglass i had. and then made shorter tie rods, it clears the motor perfectly, and removes some bumpsteer. Really need to get my hands on a radio setup though. TO EBAY!
  15. Haven't been doing much with my rc stuff over the last year as my Triumph seems to be taking up all my time, but i got let go from my company a couple of weeks ago and its given me some free time to do the things i have missed out on. my drifter that i built last year has been hanging on the wall taunting me after a plauge of reliability issues with the steering stopped me running it and it was in a poor state of repair, this is a dangerous way to be in my garage... as soon as i lose the desire to keep a car stock and running properly it seems to lose all value and become a candidate for serious modification. This is how it started, a standard yokomo mr4 tc in 4wd form, modified brushed motor and some trick shocks. after a couple of hours under the surgeons knife it ended up something like this. now a few things to clear up, the gearing is super tall, i cant really change that, but hopefully because of the tires being so hard it just spins them and accelerates as usual, but i will experiment with different settings and motors to get a good balance of control. the only issue now is that because of an RC cull i did last year i have no Radio/Receiver to run the car with... so that's next on my list.
  16. Not available anymore, thanks for the interest though guys. More free stuff coming soon.
  17. not 100% sure, but i'd expect it to be
  18. Got this with a savage i bought on eBay over 5 years ago now. its for a standard length chassis. (eg. savage 25, savage x 4.6, savage flux hp) made from steel, it bolts in place of the rear bumpers and front lights and is almost indestructible under bashing circumstances. its got some rough paint and some minor scratches but no damage. looks to be handmade to reasonable quality. easy access for glow plug heaters and tuning. way more durable than a shell and looks cooler too. taker pays the postage but as in the title, its free! Also if you're feeling generous i could use some hpi rush parts you might have lying about...
  19. Try some thicker oil in the rear shocks, sounds like its swaying on the takeoff and pushing the back end over.
  20. The firestorm is pretty good but not indestructible. But you have to accept that if you hit an obstacle the car will sustain damage. Unlike the savage, which doesn't seem to care. The only weakness there are the servos from factory... And the hexes. The 17mm buggy hexes do fit any savage, but you will have to get clever with it.. Sometimes the standard savage wheels won't want to fit the new hexes and you'll have to file those too, but it makes a solid setup in the end.
  21. Well it does require some work with a file.. But ansmann virus hexes fit fine, you need to remove the spacer at the back to give clearance, but it works fine with the stock axles. No holding nuts needed.
  22. The hexes aren't too difficult to do, but you are right, its something they should change from factory. but then similarly there are small items on other models that need addressing, like the bulkheads on the firestorm model, broke 3 of those. my mistakes really but it should be stronger
  23. what about a small scale plastic engine, something like the one on a sand scorcher but a bit meatier. negligible weight and it would make it look insane!
