  1. well the excelorin system went pop with flames when we turned it on a few days after i got it but model sport were rapid at getting us a new one
  2. hey guys my ishima raves engine has seized the last 2 times i have used it, so i am looking for a new engine and i was wondering if the hyper 7 engines would fit straight into my ishima? this is one of the engines im thinking of getting http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ho-bao-hyper-21-pull-start-standard-shaft/rc-car-products/12702
  3. kool cheers ill probably get one of these combos
  4. hey guys im looking to upgrade the brushless system on my thunder tiger xxt, what i have in mind is a decent wee speed improvement on 2s batterys, but not something that is gonna be overpowered for it. the stock motor is 3300kv (waiting on a motor mount after a nasty crash so put its brushless system in my bandit) so i was thinking of something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/EZRUN-COMBO-8-5T-4000kv-Motor-60A-ESC-RC-1-10-1-12-Car-/150534797047?pt=Radio_Control_Vehicles&hash=item230c92b6f7 any idea's if that would be suitable for my xxt?
  5. sounds awesome i cant wait to see the finished truck
  6. lol the wee tamtech looked sweet but no were as good as the atom
  7. yep all fitted decent just had to cut the bit of raised plastic that sits behind the motor like big kev said just had its first test runs and its a rapid wee car now edit: i got the 6000kv one and pretty glad i didnt get a faster one lol seems about just right for out side my house, now i need new tires
  8. well the postie arrived with a shiny package today, got the esc and motor all set up in the atom but i gotta wait on dad to come home from work to solder a deans connector before i can try it out as i dont trust my self with the solder iron
  9. battery sounds fine for mad 3s lipo speeds, dont know about the batterys size as to whether it would fit though, and i would get a cooling fan for the esc if your running 3s on it
  10. ive been using the small 2200 mah overlander 2s ones though one is a rx pack. they are a very very tight fit and can be hard to get in to the battery tray properly as their slightly wider than the standard battery and i have to flip them out with a flat blade screw driver lol
  11. dad got an email saying it was out of stock and on order with supplier on the plus side i got a low voltage alarm on friday so been messing about with the atom and 2s lipos while i wait for the brushless
  12. i removed the top chassis plate on mine and it runs on lipo a lot cooler now, just had it out in the street on full throttle and no over heating
  13. sweet thanks for all the help guys, got some alloy shocks from my local shop earlier and ordered the brushless system, so will hopefully get it tommorrow
  14. kool cheers guys just another question what am i likely to break by putting in a brushless motor? eg will it handle it?
  15. hey guys im thinking of getting this http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=33489 to put in my little atom buggy and was wondering if it is any good?, also i want to run 2s lipos with it
  16. i would pick 2wd as i find them more entertaining to drive and a bit more challenging eg i need to use throttle control going round corners etc and get some sweet doughnuts going lol
  17. i cant remember the type of silver can 540 mine came with its a good little buggy for messing about my street, im running a purple tiger 21 turn brushed motor in mine with 2s lipo batterys and it goes at a decent enough speed, with the default gearing i have used mine a lot and still do and its held up pretty well, broke some parts on it but not much, can't really go wrong with it
  18. my xl-5 bandit came with a 2 stage lipo cut -off out the box
  19. my bandit has not had any thing break on it its pretty solid and i put in a brushless system.
  20. np its great fun for bashing about and if you get bored of it been a buggy you can convert it into a traxxas rustler truck yeh and a fast charger is essential as guns says
  21. another vote for the thundertiger xxb its pretty fast and durable with decent handling http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=34700 i have a kyosho dbx nitro one and i find it to be very weak
  22. the traxxas bandit xl-5 sounds like it would fit the bill as it is a pretty robust basher and has mad handling plus its well in budget http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=33023
  23. i had a hard time with the screws on my durga, i heard of guys using a quality hex screw eg screwing it in and out before putting the normal screw in the hole its supposed to let the screws go in a lot easier.
  24. just got a maverick atom xb :)
