  1. Looks like fun but looks like it needs some faster juice as well.
  2. Cheers fella, hadn't tried that. When I tried to get it out, it was that solid I thought I might as well just go with the solid centre diff I have. Maybe the next hyper will have the solid centre. Next??? Just been catching up on this thread, I agree spiders not really needed. Centre looks good in silver but with the front/rear covered, the advantages are at best, minimal. They come up every so often 2nd hand. The last lot went for around 40 quid each end and I gave up after 20, just not worth it. I still want a torsen diff setup for the onroad but that would set me back over a hundred quid even if I could find the set. From what I read, no point in doing just one as the standard diffs would act against the torsen.
  3. 20k? Pah, I'm upto 100k. That's only because I can't get the 500k out of the bottle...........
  4. Length doesn't matter so much as no. of teeth on the spline. But yeah, king of ebay up above me has already offered suggestions.
  5. It is nice, I wish they did one specifically for the 7 but be aware this one does need some work. The third leg (far left on that pic) needs trimming down anyway but sits bang over the middle sideguard screw so best to remove completely. Not sure if it's the turnigy motor but at the moment I'm struggling to keep the pinion on the shaft due to the thickness of the mount with that motor. Grub screw doesn't have enough shaft to grip onto.
  6. Yeah I did some research a while ago to go life in my frsky but could only get halfway through that before I gave up following. I did see something about this battery but didn't get confirmation that it would deffo fit: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-4000mah-spektrum-compatible-dx9-dx8-dx7s-intelligent-transmitter-pack.html?___store=en_us
  7. Good enough for me fella. No need for 1st though, save a few pennies and go 2nd. Long as you get proof of postage one of us can claim if something goes wrong. PM me your paypal addy and I'll send the money over.
  8. Okay then, I'm up for the gamble. What's your best price posted?
  9. How easy is the Kk2.1 mini flight Controller to programme and what do you use? Need a new FC for my quad am a complete novice on the FC side of things.
  10. Dunno if this might help: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2791795-Flysky-FSi6-4800mah-1s-lipo-mod-why-2s-isn-t-needed! Sounds a bit of a pita. Eneloop batteries seem to get the thumbs up as well.
  11. The easiest way to what you want is pick the correct one of these for your battery cell count: https://www.banggood.com/3S-4S-6S-Lipo-Battery-Balance-Charging-Port-to-JST-Plug-Adapter-Cable-p-1055240.html?rmmds=search then add one of these: https://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-3_7V-Li-Po-Battery-JST-Plug-1-to-5-Charging-Cable-For-V959-V212-V222-p-67575.html?rmmds=search A lot more secure and a lot neater, if a little bit more wire hanging around.
  12. My face hurts from laughing. Watched it twice, had to stop!
  13. Loved my big red. Awesome power and good looking little beast. Like the dual start option as well although seemed to go through a few too many pullstart strings. Still remember the day it arrived, unlike most other engines.
  14. I'll take the fan and pinion if still available? Is that £10 posted?
  15. 16 quid?? The mad bull might be getting a late birthday present if that's all they are!!
  16. Kind of, 2s is 7.2v but charges up to 8.4, too much for a 6v led direct. A 3s is 11.1, upto 12.6v charged so probably just a bit taxing on 12v leds when full. Hence why I use a BEC for 6v leds. BEC stands for battery eliminator circuit which comes from ye olde days of rc planes. These days we use them as step down regulators due to even 2s lipos having too high a voltage for (most) rx's/servos/leds/fpv gear etc etc. Eg, on my slope soarer (motorless plane) I use a BEC to reduce the 3s lipo voltage down to 6v to power the rx/servos. Normally the esc has a BEC to do this but without a motor/esc you need a way of reducing the voltage from the battery. Some of my FPV stuff also only runs at 5v so I have to use a BEC for that. You can also run servo power off the BEC so they're not relying on the rx for power. It should provide a more stable and reliable power source and reduce the load on the rx. Enough confusing talk, it's unnecessary for this situation. Just think of it as stepping down your lipo voltage to 5v or 6v (depending on BEC) for lower voltage/amp requirements. A splitter is literally just a single plug with multiple wires coming out. Like a 4way extension lead for your telly/stereo/lamp etc in small scale. Single input from the BEC in one end, multiple plugging options for equipment on the other. One of these: https://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-3_7V-Li-Po-Battery-JST-Plug-1-to-5-Charging-Cable-For-V959-V212-V222-p-67575.html?rmmds=myorder
  17. The failsafe is an excellent idea but I have to say, I have a madbull and the msc is still working fine. There is so little to go wrong for a start. This year my madbull turned 21. I only hold parties for it on the big birthdays so no pics from this year.
  18. Both of those light kits you linked should allow direct input from the rx. They should sort out any resistor issues. On separate note, don't take anything from it, but on my planes I run leds direct from batterys/BECS on all my planes. Maybe they have inbuilt resistors? BEC to splitter to 6v leds or 3s to splitter to 12v leds. Never had a problem. Well, until I plugged a 3s direct to a 6v led. That was one bright light ...........for all of 3 seconds........... and then smoke and melted foam.
  19. That's annoying, after being advised to use a powercap for all my models, I went on ebay and bought the first one I found. I guess I can stop wearing this whenever I take one out now..............................
  20. Work out the numbers? I just meant what's the biggest motor that will fit!
  21. Thats exactly what I just thought. Nevermind killswitches, the real lesson here is full throttle or go home!
  22. I can confirm all of the above. It is doable but even with a damping system its hard work seeing where you're heading even on tarmac. Tried it on a buggy on grass and it bounced around too much to be useful. Worth it for a laugh but haven't bothered repeating it. Maybe at crawler speed and the cam elevated somehow.
  23. I want an air swimmer! Correction, I need an air swimmer!
  24. Its fine to do, some smaller stuff is designed to run off a balance lead. Its generally for lower power stuff for the reasons yoodoo mentioned.
