  1. Like Dubberz says, no kit pinion included, I run a 17T on a 4800kv motor, I might drop to a 15t or 16t even.. That's with the kit 70t spur. I run this core RC servo (CR194), which fits the standard mount --- almost. You have to dremel/cut some material from the inside, and cut some relief's in the middle of the top so you can pull it over the servo (servo is about 2mm wider than the stock mount). The servo is top notch though, fast & strong, for a sensible price
  2. I took the win in the first micro A final.... Therefore I believe I'm winning micro championship? If anybody in the area wants to try racing @ South West Indoor RC, but is on the fence about investing in a 10th buggy, I have a "Vintage" buggy setup for the track and ready to race, that you can use as a loan car for the evening
  3. Link to South West Indoor RC Facebook Page The club is going really strong, since the start in the summer its had some layout changes to keep things fresh, the current one is massive fun, flows really well with a big wall-ride and nice jumps This week it had its first proper micro heat - with a mixture of Carisma GTB's and a Losi Mini 8. Hopefully that will be a class ran every week, alongside 10th buggies, which are the main class and have the biggest numbers. There's also discussions about starting a short course class once a month.. There's also a mixed Juniors/Vintage class ran every week, so everyone has a chance of winning. The club is every Thursday, 6:30PM track opens for practice, 7PM racing starts, there's directions & the location on the Facebook page, and the owner (Matt) is on here as well. There's handout timing transponders (no extra charge), tyres are sold at the track if you don't have any (Supplied by Nimrif RC), and always plenty of people to ask for help/advice
  4. I'll do a write up once I've raced on them The motor I use is about the same power as the Carisma 4500kv. Few more revs, not a lot in it.. I'm running this ESC - its an excellent fit because the low profile, and good value too Most popular seems to be the Hobbywing ESC's?
  5. Thanks They do draw a bit of attention...even more when you say how much the rolling chassis costs! I'm running this 4800kv motor from Hobbyking. Its amazing for the money. When it reaches the end of its life I'll fork up for a 4 pole Leopard. At South West Indoor RC last night we had a new layout - and the micro's were no slower at all than the 10th buggies. Both fast!! I've picked up some yellow tyres so gonna give them a run next week and see how they fare. I've got another set of white ones, but I'd rather have something a bit longer lasting to do club racing with every week.. Still playing with setup but loving every lap
  6. These little GTB's are awesome fun They seem to be growing in popularity locally (South Devon/Cornwall). It amazes me how they 100% match 10th buggy for speed (indoor carpet), and sometimes even find a bit more. Are the yellow Rally Blocks much different to the white ones? My first set of white ones have done 3 race days, and they're just about gone. My GTB (with 10th buggy in background) @ Torbay TRAC Round 2,
  7. As title, looking for a tidy GTB please Not adverse to one with some electrics either..
  8. I have a flat chassis RC10GT in pieces and most of a tub too. Anyone after some RC10GT parts shoot me a PM and we'll deal Got plenty of upgrades as well - metal gears for the transmission, alloy gearbox housing, RPM parts, alloy parts.. Just don't have the time to rebuild it. Got the bodyshell still as well.
  9. Looking for ideally a complete Summit body and exocage. Also looking for a brushed motor & ESC setup to fit a Summit or similar size truck. Thanks!
  10. Hpi E Firestorm Flux. Call it job done! My favourite bashing car and one of the most reliable. Pretty nimble track car too if that takes your fancy. Leaves plenty in your budget for a couple of 5000mah+ 2s lipo's from Hobbyking, and the charger/power supply/lipo sack.
  11. Awesome Are you running it this Thurs dude?
  12. The E-Firestorm is a heck of a car for the money, for all the cars I have its the one I take out bashing most often. The plastics are strong and the drivetrain is very durable. If you don't want to mess around with it after buying it though, invest in the brushless (Flux) version which is also waterproof.
  13. Harsh! I always use lipo sacks for charging, and store them in an ammo tin at home, but you can't turn your back on them...
  14. Get an oven tray, cover with foil, lay wheels/tyres out, heat to 160 degrees and "cook" for 15 mins. Turn wheels half way through. Try not to burn yourself when they come out! On smaller wheels I leave them for a few mins to let the rims cool a bit, or else they warp. Done many sets that way with 100% success No harm to wheel, tyre or insert..
  15. I've used one of these for years, can't fault it. Used to be powerful enough to solder NIMH battery bars No wires in the way, and handy when there's no electric around.. Maplins Gas 70W iron
  16. Nice capture It felt a bit nuts driving a short course indoors :D Glad the roof didn't fall down! Looking forward to this week's racing, I'm only entering modern buggies this week, but should have my RC10 B3 ready for next week
  17. Keep your eyes out for an RC10 B3 appearing shortly in the vintage class Thanks Alex97 for the heads up.
  18. Thanks! Haven't found one yet so will check that one out My H2 is running a geared diff, although I used a medium viscosity grease (real car bearing grease) instead, as the seals are a bit flimsy. It has plenty of turning without feeling too light, wouldn't change a thing about it..
  19. I've rebuilt my RC10 T2 and fixed most of the niggling problems it had so bringing that with me tonight, still waiting for a nice buggy to pop up I'm sure it'll be a good laugh, ribbed tyres on carpet!
  20. I've got some vintage competition for you tonight Did you figure out what was going on with the radio last week then? It was almost like it had lost the binding to the Tx.
  21. Hobao H2 - shocks rebuilt, and other setup changes to try and find a bit more laptime this week Kyosho Inferno - Less dampening and other setup changes for this weeks racing + major clean HPI E-Firestorm - repaired damage caused by novice brother-in-law Traxxas Slash - Tutted and ummed and arred at all the play in the wishbones/hubs/camber links. Decided it was fine for an SC Yes it's been a slow bank holiday for me
  22. Few little set-up changes to the car this week, shocks rebuilt, can't wait to go racing Who's going this Thursday? For anyone in Cornwall/South & West Devon, its super easy to get to, just off the A38. Just the ticket when the rain is this bad..
  23. The last 2 weeks there's been 3 groups running, one of them this week was the vintage/micro
  24. Another great evenings racing last night, with some great 1/10 buggy racing and the start of a mixed vintage/micro class. Looking forward to next week! Every week there's been tweaks to the track/layout, and it has a really smooth flow now with plenty of challenging parts IMO
  25. Prepped my E-Firestorm so my brother-in-law can drive it tomorrow - oversize tyres, loosen slipper, slacken servo saver, and throttle trim cut in half. Should be safe :D
