Your not the first person I’ve heard say they are over geared out of the box, I run the same kinda combo but with the ZTW 625kv Motor in a 5ive B on 12 and 10s and it absolutely shifts 👍

That torque in a buggy must be insane.

 

Here is my last running video. Trailing with a 5th scale is truck is not the most common....but why not!

 

Now taken the time and spent the money to upgrade my 2018 voltz to 2019 spec.

That means new alloy front lower arms, bigger spur, smaller pinion , new motormount and new gear cover(new spur is too large for the old one).

Also installed 4x springless shocks . Alu servo saver and new front swaybar. Also moved some shock mounts accordingly. 

Car has increased about 900 grams in weight but center of gravity is a bit lower(for several reasons). Weight is now 24.6 kg with battery.

With new suspension arms it is slightly wider in the front(600mm).

 And also the wheelbase is 1-2 cm longer, now almost 640mm. 2019 is lower and stiffer with the suspension in the standard positions.

That is obvious behind the wheel as well. Only test driven the 2019 car once on asphalt and grass and it is more of a high speed basher (like 1/8 e-revo) than it was in 2018 spec.

Probably a worse crawler.

Tried this with some other cars including 5th scale electics but the Voltz is by far the best RC i have seen at pulling stuf. High torque and front weight bias is useful here.

Maybe it is time for that.
My first posts were intended mostly to answer the questions discussed earlier in the thread but I am now planning some quite serious winter mods of this car so it probably deserves a separate thread.
