Popular Post Fat Freddy
Got this little kit recently. Could have got it cheaper direct from China and waited weeks, but paid a little extra and got it from dronejunkie.co.uk They have a range of kits and spares and upgrades. Very helpful and excellent service.
Popular Post Fat Freddy
Bag A. This thing is TINY! Tweezers are definitely a must, and a .9mm hex driver is essential. Was surprised to find the diffs are fully ball raced. Was expecting bushes. Strictly speaking, they are simple bevel gears rather than differentials but only a pedant would point that out…. Everything seems pretty well made and fits together well ( so far).
Mack1
I have seen these quite a few times now, when I have been to the model shows. I was quite impressed by them and their tiny size. Thing that got me was they were being run on a tiny off road course that was built in a suitcase 😲. How cool is that.

Fat Freddy
Steering and suspension links fitted to axles. Gearbox built and motor fitted (forgot to take pics of that bit, but all metal geared and ball raced). Rock sliders, light buckets and front shock towers attached to metal frame rails. and who even knew you could get servos that small!
Popular Post Fat Freddy
Note about prices. The kit cost £50 but doesn’t include transmitter, electronics, motor, servo, or battery. They offer a purpose made transmitter with combined receiver/ESC and lighting kit. I didn’t cost it up, but at £44 that seemed like a good deal? (Again, could have got it cheaper from China, but who wants to wait weeks for delivery?) The motors are about £5 each and come fitted with a tiny reduction gearbox attached. They run at various speeds from 50 rpm-500rpm and there’s another 3000rpm one available but I assumed that’d be rubbish on a crawler. I got a 200rpm but no idea how fast/slow that’ll turn out to be. Servo £5.99. They do a tiny 120mah 2s lipo for £4.99. All very cheap but it starts to add up. I’m up to about £130 so far….. don’t regret a penny 😁👍
Stormbringer
Coming along really well I know its all adding up but to be fair for what your getting at end it seems reasonable to me and is looking to be a cracking wee car
Popular Post Fat Freddy
Bumpers, battery tray etc all go together to make a proper little ladder chassis. This is the first time I’ve run into any problems. There’s a crossmember under the motor that braces the frame rails, except as it’s screwed to the rails on a bend, it was a ******* to get in. Had to sand down the ends slightly to make it fit. Thing is, while I was struggling with that I accidentally put too much pressure on the front bumper and pulled it off so the screw holding it stripped out and wouldn’t grip. I put a drop of glue in the hole and let it almost set before reassembling it and 🤞it seems to have held. On to bag D for shocks and drive shafts. Absolutely zero attempt at damping in the shocks, but apparently you can get metal bodied adjustable shocks for a tenner a set.

To be honest the build is a bit further along than this. I’m just being a bit lazy putting up the pictures.

Fat Freddy
Bag F Wheels, tyres and foams. The tyres seem pretty good tbh and come with foams to put inside too. The wheel weights are extras, as are the little centre hub style wheel nuts. The stock wheenuts look ok, but (I think) the cylinder hub nuts look pretty cool. I was told by a man on t’interweb that the best set up is no foams at rear, and wheel weights up front. I had planned to experiment with different options but the tyres need to be glued to the rims. They won’t stay on, especially with the foams inside. So I think I’m going to follow the advice I’ve been given for now. Will order some more wheels/tyres to experiment with later.

Popular Post Fat Freddy
Here it is, doing a little posing and flexing with the unpainted shell on it. No electronics or battery inside yet. oh and forgot to say earlier, fitting the drive shafts was a pain in the arse. Looks pretty doesn’t it? And SO tiny next to my 1/10 SCA-1E! Have decided to go old school, green with a white roof. Edited January 13, 2022 by Fat Freddy
Stormbringer
Omg its even got the rear mudflaps on it lol And looking at the shell theres a lot of detail going to be on it its gonna look superb mate
Fat Freddy
Fitted the electronics. Was a bit of a puzzle. It’s a combined esc/receiver and is all quite straightforward EXCEPT, the red female plug attached to the motor doesn’t fit into the socket marked ‘motor’ on the esc, (but it does fit the red plug on the battery?). Next problem was, the battery plug doesn’t fit into the socket marked battery on the esc(?). Had me stumped for a little while but when I looked into the bag with the lighting kit, there were two little white plugs for the esc with nothing attached. So, I cut off the red plug attached to the motor and soldered on one of the little white esc plugs. Then I soldered the other white esc plug to the red female battery plug that had previously been attached to the motor. Not sure that explanation reads very well, sorry. Worth noting that NONE OF THIS IS EVEN MENTIONED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS!? The next problem was that when I ordered my battery, I roughly knew the dimensions of the body shell, so got a battery I thought would fit inside it. Which it sort of does, but as it’s too big to fit in the battery tray I’d have to mount it quite high which would mess up the weight distribution. It took me a while but I found one on eBay that fits. It’s a 2s lipo but its TINY!!! Edited January 15, 2022 by Fat Freddy
Stormbringer
At least you managed to suss it out tho mate and its really coming on now

Fat Freddy
Shell painted green with an (off) white roof. Did a pretty shoddy job of the painting, especially the roof, but as it’s all so small, you have to get pretty close to see the mistakes.
Stormbringer
Doesnt look bad at all mate and liking the colour scheme
Fat Freddy
Still not 100% complete. A few details on the shell and then take a deep breath before tackling the lights. That’s going to be a super fiddly job and really test my soldering skills… but more of that later. In the meantime, here’s a little vid of progress so far…… IMG_3070.MOV Fitted the indicator/headlight lenses. So bloody small! Dropped this ******* (rear indicator lense) and spent 20 minutes on my hands and knees trying to find it! Re the sound. I reckon I’ll get over the novelty soon enough, but there’s a volume knob on the tx! 😋👍 Edited January 22, 2022 by Fat Freddy
Stormbringer
Omg thats totty real bummer when you drop small parts lol But at least you eventually found it

Fat Freddy
Find myself putting off wiring up the lights….. Look at it, this is the “full lighting kit” and the sum total of the instructions that came with it.Those wires are .4mm thick….or thin depending on your perspective. The big LEDs should be easy (Big? 5mm LEDs are big?!) but the little LEDs are really going to test my soldering skills.
