53HRA
Tamico´s 10th Anniversay. Let´s celebrate. With a very special model: Porsche 934 RSR Vaillant TA02SW This model, composed by us, is based on the Tamiya Black Porsche RSR Kit No. 47362, but has the green attachments and the Vaillant decalset of the equally limited 30 year Tamiya RC Porsche 934 TA05 Kit 49400. The kit is numbered and strictly limited to 333 pieces. The basis for this model is the TA02SW chassis (SW stands for short / short wheelbase and wide / wide rear track) and is equipped with a variety of tuning parts.Option Parts Included: 53142 Aluminum Motor Mount 53152 Hard Propeller Shaft 53166 FRP Chassis Set 53193 FRP Front Damper Stay 53194 FRP Rear Damper Stay 53806 Ball Diff Cup Joint for Universal Shaft This is a 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit. Length: 435mm, width: 202mm, height: 130mm. The evergreen form of the 934 is recreated stunningly in durable polycarbonate, with separate side mirror and wing parts. Separate light cases are also included. Comes with an LED light unit to light up headlights and taillights for the ultimate realistic appearance. The TA02SW chassis was previously used on the 911 GT2 Racing (Items 58172, 84399 and 47321). It offers a short (236mm) wheelbase and wide tread setup; similar to that so often employed by Porsche. This kit uses the FRP chassis set, which transforms the chassis into a double deck unit using rigid and lightweight FRP material parts. FRP front and rear damper stays ensure optimum performance from the CVA oil damper-fitted 4-wheel double wishbone suspension. The stainless steel propeller shaft is highly durable and offers efficient transmission of power, particularly in combination with the front and rear assembly universal shafts, which come with ball diff cup joints. Enclosed front and rear gear cases have built-in diff gears. The rear is fitted with a ball differential. Comes with 2-piece wheels, tires and inner sponges. The rear of the model uses wide wheels. Full ball bearings. Warning: Not recommended for children under 14 years - used only under adult supervision. Source: Tamico Note: These are selling fast so be quick! I kinda wanna see the FRP chassis though! I bought the Jagermeister 40th off Tamico on one of their xmas deals, 166 euro. It stayed in the box for the best part of 6 months, no intention in building it. Then decided to crack it open The chassis got built but decided I fancied a Taisan Starcard shell, purchased a 911 GT2 shell and rear wing, decals from MCI. Still got the Jagermeister shell, decals and plastic parts which may get painted up one day. The build is simalar to your 911 GT2 TA02-SW chassis, front and rear gearbox. It's the bit in the middle that is different. Very very nice. Knowing there's only 195 of the Vaillant left, I may have to bag one quicker than I thought

Yours looks epic mate. Thanks for the photos of the FRP Chassis, looks epic. Does the Tamico one come with the ESC? I think it comes with LED lights too? 192 left now
Kpowell911
Jesus! Is this how much the hop up chassis is? https://www.rcjaz.co.uk/tamiya-53166-4wd-ta02-fwd-car-frp-chassis-set-p-6309.html

Does the Tamico one come with the ESC? I think it comes with LED lights too? 192 left now It does come with LED kit and the ESC is not included, same as the Jagermeister 40th and Black Edition. What you'll get is the Black Edition with Vaillant decals and blue spoiler/mirror parts. Also, I beleive the box is just wrapped in a sleeve that Tamico had made up. It is held in place by the shrink wrap. It was too much effort to have ONLY 333 boxes made up specially. Don't be surprised if when you unwrap it the sleeve falls away and there's a Black Edition box underneath. Don't hold me to the box being a Black Edition, but the box art is definitley a sleeve. 192 eh? I'll check back in the morning and make a decision. I can't see them being there at the end of the month.

If I had the black edition TA-02SW I wouldn't have bothered by my TA-02SW Porsche is just the standard one..... and If Im honest its probably my favourite model! @53HRA PM'd me early on the release day of this to show me. I initially dismissed it as Im currently in my first week of Self Employment. Im in a bizarre situation where Ive never had so much money in my bank, but Im scared to spend a penny as its going to be a slow slow road getting some decent income coming in regularly, and I still need to buy a van and drills!! But the more I thought about it, I thought why not so I ordered one about 11am. 333 sounds a very low number, but Ive no idea? For example how many of a 'normal' popular model (say the TT-01e Subaru Impreza) would be produced.

I guess a normal model production is just ongoing over a long period of time, maybe thousands over a period of years, really don't know. What we do know is only 333 of these Tamico specials have been made and that there are only 190 left now

RCbutcher
It sounds like tamiya wants to sell anything but competitive kits lol. I was the kid who wanted a tamiya rc its all Argos shown. The first focus or scooby tt01 kits mayb tl01 it was all about the body to me then. But never got one so don't have any link to tamiya and really cant see why new people would either. Apart from the price and to display. But didnt tamiya ban sellers from putting tamiya kits on special offer? Diminishes the brand, nothing so funny sitting on designs for decades diminished the brand. Now its probably more focused on trippy stuff than rc cars. The scaletrix type rcs you just accelerate brake they bounce from wall to wall in the crazy coaster style tracks. Or the robotic type rcs. They look cool but why cant they modernize the tamiya line up. When their trying to do all the crazy innovative other things. Its all good. Until they say cheap prices diminished the brand lol. RCbutcher
I bet the first 50 or so was sent to special fans, dealers or sons. So is tamico another tamiya?
tolk83
I bet the first 50 or so was sent to special fans, dealers or sons. So is tamico another tamiya? Tamico is a german model shop. Pretty good prices, I've had a few bits from them now. 2 day delivery most times too!

I think youre reading into it too much. Its not much of a special thing to be honest. I just love Porsche's and for €199 cant moan. Tamico are just a model shop in Germany that sell a lot of Tamiyas at very good prices. They obviously have a deal too celebrate 10 years dealing with Tamiya so have come up with this special edition as a small celebration I guess. Its just a regular TA-02SW Black edition which has some nice hop ups and LED lights, but with a new decals set and a a special sleeve on the box. Mark_C
Seems people use any excuse to try and kick Tamiya. They are and always have been a gateway to the hobby grade stuff. Sure. you can buy more technically advanced products, but they also cost a lot more.
