J.K
It could be a clutch issue, does it run fine on the flat?

Smoothybb
That sounds like clutch shoe springs.
MattyGage
Are they easy changeable by any chance
Smoothybb
Reasonably. As most things rc, there is a knack to them. I recall a number of puncture wounds to fingers but it's been a while since i messed with nitro. Sorry it's 1/10 isn't it. They're easier to change than a 1/8th as it's one spring. If its quite new then unlikely the clutch has gone already though. Does all of the drivetrain move without any binding/resistance?
Fly In My Soup
Good shout smoothy....If it is the springs, they'll be too stiff... with those symptoms. I'd still say the symptoms also point to worn clutch shoes. Take your clutch bell off and take a pic to post on here Matty. 4 minutes ago, Smoothybb said: Reasonably. Ever built up a 4 shoe race clutch? frustratingly fiddly doesn't quite describe it..... Allthough it does describe Jimmy Saville rather well... 1

I agree it does sound like a worn shoe issue but for some reason I thought it sounded like a newish purchase. I was guessing either the spring wasn't working quite right or just needed a bit of a stretch.
Fly In My Soup
You could well be right dude.... Mattygage, the balls in your court, whip your engine out and unscrew the bolt holding the clutch bell on Some pics of the shoe setup would help us confirm the issue

As smoothy pointed out, if it is that new, then it is unlikely that the issue is the clutch shoes.... One way to clear this up once and for all would be to take a video of the issue as it's happening...I.e. when it's struggling to drive up a hill
Fly In My Soup
P.s. did you get it from new? If so, did you ensure that you 'broke' the engine in? If it's revving well then I'll assume you have.... But that would then point attention to the clutch being an issue.... Hmmmm...I'm stumped.... Mattgage, you'll probably still need to pull the engine off and dissembled some of the clutch to diagnose this issue... Without a video or pics its very hard for us to help with an issue like this
Shudson
I have no experience of this truck, but just looked at spec. It appears to have a slipper clutch and it may well be that it needs adjustment.

Smoothybb
I didnt see slipper clutch (lack of research) that could well be the culprit.
