eatthis
will the pcb take the current draw? i did this with an airsoft rifle and the copper track on the pcb exploded lol
Pathaleon
I was thinking that myself but the track on the CapPack isn't particularly thick.. That's why I used two tracks Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI can't test mine as I'm having trouble finding the poxy glue gun Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pathaleon
I have just glued it after having the thought that I could have soldered some thicker wire over the traces! d'oh Screw it I will give it a bash anyway.

Pathaleon
Well I better remove my guide as my mamba just kicked the bucket. I guess I should have soldered some thicker cable on first whoops!
arogon1235
ive done it the same way before and my esc is fine i only used copper tape for the tracks and 10awg wire for the - and + leads going to the esc and its held up fine for a couple of months
Pathaleon
I think the tracks must have shorted taking the esc and the battery. Its a hardcase lipo and looks like its bulging a bit. I was ragging the **** out of it and it just stopped. Not hot or anything.
arogon1235
possibly that's why i use a multi meter to test the connections first to make sure nothing is short circuiting
Pathaleon
I did a continuity test and it's got about 20M Ohm resistance Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkIt wasn't shorting before I tried it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pathaleon
Ignoring the marks from the sander and small pieces of glue you can see actually there is no damage to the circuit itself so I have no clue what went on there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pathaleon
Also the Lipo still has about 4V in each cell Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pathaleon
I think that the ESC must have had a weakness on the middle motor trace as it looks like it has been repaired before and I have finally finished it off with a little extra oomph. Oh well live and learn! Edited June 16, 2015 by Pathaleon
eatthis
lol was there any noticable difference while it worked?
Pathaleon
I have always thought it was an animal anyway but it was almost turning on the spot with full power
Noj
Frankly, for the cost of the castle and the cost of the ESC it is generally fitted to (the xl2) it makes no sense to build one. Kudos for trying though
Pathaleon
I'm pretty sure it would have happened if I had run the ESC longer than I have it was in my brothers parts box so I thought it was too good to be true that it worked Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
