You'd keep it at 7.2v (or possibly 8.4v maybe) the voltage won't affect the mah, look for 5000+ if you're going to stick with nimh but bare in mind it'll take a small age to charge on the supplied charger

the stock is 8.4v, is there a cheap charger and battery on modelsport that is better than the standard?

Yeah I wasn't sure whether stock was 8.4v, if you were to get a new charger then you might aswell get a lipo capable one and then you can get 2s lipos instead of nimh

i wont run lipo on this one and want to keep the costs down, this any good?: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/electric-power-batteries/rc-car-categories/9920/992025&MSAttributeID[32]=840&MSAttributeID[30]=600&MSAttributeID[107]=1169&MSAttributeID[31]=942

just need a charger?

link dont work.. its the hpi plazma 8.4v 3300mah

Personally I wouldn't spend too much on NiMH's these days as LiPo's are cheap enough from Hobbyking nowadays and the benefit is amazing.

LiPo's are worth the "hassle" definately.

its just that the rc is brushed so the lipos will wear it.

is this a good nimh charger? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/fusion-5ive-nx82-delta-peak-dual-output-charger/rc-car-products/32524
