PurcyP
Havnt updated in a few days got the front and rear glass in eventually with zero crazing! ..found out that these special anti crazing glues for windows etc on models..is just over priced PVA glue..tad naughty..but used PVA and zero issues though took forever to get it to set n hold properly :/ Also just ordered my decals and some ignition wire for the engine. Just need to get a hold of some tamiya smoke now but hobbycraft didnt have any when i went last time ..will ring em tomorrow.
PurcyP
hobbycraft sucks :| ended up having to order tamiya x19 smoke so that will come probably wednesday my decals and ignition wire come tomorrow so can get some recaro love on the seats, that will look cool, not sure when the rest of the engine parts will arrive but will glue on the ignition wire anyway. PurcyP
tiny turbo is tiny or..well huge in comparison to the engine even though its the same scale rofl saying that, the single turbo conversions are huge
Noj
Look good quality and well moulded
PurcyP
yup was a bit apprehensive as i know resin parts can need a lot of extra work but thankfully its all been done for me, just need to get rid of a seam line here n there and sand the mounting points a bit flatter
PurcyP
hello sir would you like some engine with that turbo O_O jesus lmao i have a feeling this aint gonna fit in the engine bay any more rofl not finished painting yet, also used a bit of a needle cap where the filter is to create a more realistic filter mount rather than slapping it on the face of the turbo. intercooler fits nice as well, ideal for a V mount like this
PurcyP
Awwww yea! you know when you envision something and then you try it and it actually comes to light how you want it? yea tis a first for me but im so thrilled. now to paint the intercooler and then scratch build the pipe work! ..oh and the engine dont fit in the bay any more BUT it isnt as bad as i was expecting, bit of shaving material out the way and it will be fine
Noj
Has your extra piece between filter and turbo caused the fouling issues? Measure twice, glue once
PurcyP
Haha no just the turbo itself is huge Got plenty of room going towards front bumper it's the wing on the turbo side Edited July 22, 2014 by PurcyP
PurcyP
w000t engines in! not gluing it down yet though as i still need my ignition wire annnnd i need to do the pipe work still. all the bulkhead needed was a bit of dremel love and tada, its like ive never bodged anything ever at all in my life, not even once
Noj
Bodge? What bodge? Good work, looks a perfect fit to me.

PurcyP
one intercooler pipe done and probably the hardest, cant finish it obviously until the engine is mounted. what a pain though, had to use 5 minute jb weld which is amazing but had a right job holding it in place for the time required..with my shakes as well lmao to create the more realistic outlet i used again a cut off from a needle plastic cover sheath thing. painted the top and bottom half chrome silver and a little bit of the pipe sitting inside black
PurcyP
yeeeeey my decals came and ignition wire and tamiya smoke.... ..aaand the decals are the wrong set FML lol ..hopefully they will just send me out the proper set instead of faffing returning the other oh well, will finish the rear light cluster and get the engine finished i guess
