I've picked out what I think works, suits their tastes and will give them something fun to build, use recreationally and give room for improvement ... but I don't have the experience to know for sure that the below items will allow them to build a working RC car and despite reading a guide I still have no clue what pinion gear to get ... I was wondering if I might request some help? Si Coe Posted December 11, 2013 Share Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) Actually I'd say that most of that is a pretty excellent starting point. Much better than a crumby old Tamiya (even though the Mi1 is in fact an ancient Schumacher design!) Go lipo from the start - no point messing with NiMH's. They are old tech and frankly life got a whole lot easier when lipos came around. Hobbyking is your source for lipos - just make sure you get from the UK warehouse. This charger and this battery would be perfect but there are lots of options. Pinion wise you need a 48dp pinion of around 22t.
