  1. A year and a half since the last update and really, since I last tried running the car. The soldering wasn't grey and a couple of joints worked loose and the chassis sat for ages. A few months ago I tried to rewire it with all black cable, just to tidy it up - but I'm crap at soldering! A friend took it to work and sorted it all for me. I should have it back one evening this week. I moved to a new workshop last October and have just been crazy busy, but at the weekend I got the MS-01D out and had a friend over to slide the cars around. Here's the layout we messed around on. It was so much fun! I can't wait to have the FXX back and start working on RWD again.
  2. Cheers for the offer dude I used run with Tim at Soul RC. I'll try and head up there soon. In the mean time, I've set up a track in my office. I don't use it so thought it was a better idea, haha. I'm in Milton Keynes so not too far.
  3. It looks like a great chassis Keep us posted on how you get on with it. I'm trying to get back into it after nearly 2 years out. I'm tempted to sell my MS-01 and FXX chassis and get one of these.
  4. That is a good price. Seems to have adjustment in all the right places. The only thing that would put me off is spares and parts. The Sakura D4 is a decent, proven chassis. Well worth a look. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alloy-Carbon-1-10-2WD-Version-RC-Drift-Car-Kit-For-Racing-Sakura-D4-RWD-/391763999670?epid=805533976&hash=item5b36f43bb6%3Ag%3AuPsAAOSw5ZBWKefE&_trkparms=pageci%3Aca43f182-681d-11e7-8b6c-74dbd1803eb1%7Cparentrq%3A3e2643ea15d0aa4902a7bd32ffea1de9%7Ciid%3A10
  5. Had time to get this marked out. I'll run a car on it Thursday and see what changes need to be made. It felt right as I laid it down but there's a couple of bits that might now flow.
  6. Photos! Here's the offending part. To get these parts was almost £20 with postage so buying a whole chassis in parts was an amazing deal. And back in business Off to work now, I'll get the carpet vacuumed and mark up a little track.
  7. It's been a long time since I updated this! Over a year since blast ran my RC cars. I've been watching loads of YouTube videos which inspired me to get back into it. The FFXalways seemed to run a bit funny. It was very skitty. Turns out there was a broken front upper arm. You could only tell with the car upside down, haha. I managed to buy a while chassis pretty much in pieces and got the part I needed and loads of spares. My photos aren't working at the moment but I'll update with pictures soon. I have a quieter week at work so the office will be vacuumed and a track marked out hopefully my batteries are still good.
  8. I started on AWD with counter steer. It's a lot of fun, easier to pick up than RWD, but it lacks some realism. Moved on to RWD and it's incredible - very hard to pick up but it's worth sticking it out. The gyro helps to center the wheels, when the rear steps out it helps you to catch the balance point between a drift and a spin. It give you that split second to get the wheels on lock and hold your slide. It's not there to cheat and hold the drift like some people imagine, more an aid to get you there.
  9. For a brushless motor, a 10.5t or 13.5t are the most popular motors for drifting. Good torque and nice speed. You can make the chassis RWD if you like. It's much harder to master but more rewarding when you do. You'll need a lot of steering lock and a gyro will help a lot too.
  10. I haven't had a chance to try it still dude. I might be free on the 26th! I'll see if my batteries are still any good.
  11. Looking good dude How does it feel? I feel your pain on the track closure. Bad times.
  12. It's a painted resin. It wasn't great when I tried it last time. I'll give it a try on the carpet upstairs when I get some free time
  13. They never seem to hold their value very much. Maybe 300 - 400, depending on how flush people are feeling.
  14. Yeah, they have drift days. I'm not sure when they are. I've only managed to run my car once this year so I haven't looked into it.
  15. That's the one. I forgot how much of a deal it is! Oh cool. There's quite a few people around MK that are into it. Sadly the nearest track, Soul RC has closed it's doors. The next one would be High Wycombe. There are a couple further north too.
