Hi, I've been looking into electric rc for the first time in a few years, and have noticed how fast the electric models are getting out of the box.
However, the price does reflect the performance, and I cant warrant spending the £500+ asking price for these models.
I was wondering, is there a way of getting good speed from an on-road rc for cheap?
I'm after something fun to drive as well as quick, not just a top speed missile.
The hpi rs4 sport 3 looked to be a good deal, claimed speeds of 70+ with the speed gearing, however, many people are reporting issues, and i dont think I'd trust the flimsy looking chassis on anything but a race track. And £300 is already a good amount of money, even before spending half that again on upgrades.
The maverick strada brushless tc looks interesting. With an esc upgrade along with gearing changes, would this car be capable of handling the 50mph+ mark while being fun to drive down the park?
Just wondering what everyones general thoughts/recommendations are.
Many thanks
