  1. Need to see the wheels and chassis. Don't remember the original - 1:1 - being blue, but perhaps that was me. Al.
  2. That is fair enough. Agreed, they're lower down. Seen a load of them in Africa ... won't dwell on it as detracts from the effort - great job. Al.
  3. Looks great. Only negative is using chains - reckon they'd strap it on, avoid transit damage - minor detail relatively. Love the newspapers as well. Al.
  4. Totally agreed - I like the look of the intended model its copying. Hope you're right - true 1:7 could mean bodies and other parts compatible with the 'X'. Al.
  5. Already posted somewhere else, that's actually the 1:1 suspended by cranes - I thought that originally as well. Al.
  6. Very unfortunate. Always preferred LRP-branded NiMH and latterly LiPo batteries for my nitro truck when it was nitro - now the Raminator is BL ... another story - on the forum, somewhere!! Al.
  7. You could build a house USING the RC's you've bought!! Know what you're saying - for me it's more 'could have done that kitchen refit / garden rebuild' rather than actual house. I reckon in the last 15 years I've spent that per year in 'k'. Al.
  8. I suppose you should read 'entry level', 'easy / cheap maintenance' in the description. 4WD more complicated - and capable, and expensive. Al.
  9. Must admit the screws had me thinking a bit too - will be interesting to see how this turns out. Great work so far - nice precise lines. Al.
  10. Seems to be around the same size - nice if they make some, many, all parts interchangeable. Al.
  11. No problem. Tamiya normally give you a little tear-off-top tube of threadlock - or have done in the past when I've made them - unusual that. State the obvious, but ensure the grub is on the flat of the motor shaft. Al.
  12. Get something well-established - as mentioned HPI/KM Baja, Losi 5ive - which also have support - suppliers of spares. You WILL break things as you use it - it happens (if not, you're not trying hard enough!!) Main thing also, get a remote kill switch - very important for safety - these rigs are big, heavy and fast - reason you want one!! Al.
  13. Did you threadlock the grub screw in? (Tamiya normally supply kits with some threadlock.) If YES, leave for 24 hours before using. Glad it was a simple, and cheap, fix! Steering - covered earlier. Remove servo horn, electrics on (Tx/Rx), centre on the Tx, then sit on the splines as close as possible, then 'trim' to straight ahead. Al.
  14. Good spot! Thought it looked pretty good!! Al.
  15. Did I really write this? ..... I think the Traxxas looks miles better than the Losi!! Hmmmhh!! Al.
  16. Normal - smaller - wheels - superglue is fine. If you're racing, there's no choice as it's instant. If you're on larger scale / high torque applications, E6000 is miles better. I used to superglue my monster truck tyres onto the alloy rims of my FG MT and within 10 minutes' play time, one or more had broken free - superglue is useless on largescale - and it gets everywhere if you're not careful. The wheels started to look very 'second hand' as well, despite costing a fortune! E6000, and the careful use of cable ties, as it takes up to 48 hours to set - is flexible, rubs off where you don't want it, including fingers, and so far, 3 years later, has never come loose! Al.
  17. D845WP is £68 NOW! There's often a discount available. I compared this 68 with '60' to say no 20 difference - RC M will probably have an offer on the Savox as well. I think 68 notes for a servo of that specification is great. I don't need one but am trying hard not to get one ... !! Al.
  18. Check out RC Modelz!! There's no 20 quid difference!! See if there's a 'latest discount' that applies as well. Al.
  19. 7 years wasn't it? No matter how much 'fun' I was having, I'm certain after 6 months I'd have given up, or have been carried away!! Al.
  20. That is a bit cheeky. Couldn't believe the weight of it, 'though it is 1-metre long!! Al.
  21. For bearings, check RCBearings - they do competitively priced kits. Al.
  22. Not R/C - sorry. Frying pans for my new induction hob - existing Jamie Oliver favourite incompatible - gutted! Hob's brilliant. Al.
  23. I take it you have heard the one about the Canadian guy who excavated his basement using RC vehicles? Here's a taster!! O/P truck would certainly have helped!! Al.
