  1. only problem i've found with the metal pawl is they will wear out the flywheel I've invested in these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HPI-Baja-Pull-start-Zenoah-Chung-yang-5B-5SC-5T-pullstarter-LOSI-5IVE-/121103274867?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item1c32515373
  2. was the 29.5 full mod with fan, running in my mcd so no problem with getting enough air then after 8 hours use this is the piston the dent in the top of the piston is a hole and the missing pieces took the head out too
  3. very powerful, strong pulling motor well pleased with mine for the first 8 hours of use ..............then the piston almost melted on the exhaust side taking off the edge and leaving a hole in the top contacted GIZMO motors whom i bought the engine from very helpful ......told me i had probably got dirt in thru' filter and there was no warranty, even tho' the website says "we stand 100% by what we sell" .........eventually they offered me a replacement head and piston for the princely sum of $173 plus shipping !! not impressed
  4. the 5755 has 25kg at 6v the 5765 has 20kg at 6v or 25kg at 7.4v
  5. i used to run hitec 805's really good servo but a bit slow changed to hitec 5755 and never looked back use the 5765 in my MCD but they have less torque at 6v than the 5755
  6. isn't the silencer just a can with an outlet over the end of the pipe I heat my silenced VRC pipe 'til it smokes to burn off all the carbon
  7. ordered a few bits from Freeprawn tues 26th 3:30pm had to wait 23hours before postman knocks on the door next time i want personal delivery....only be 7 hours then lol Fantastic service and always a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to deal with
  8. lets in a little more air. I cut a thread in mine and wound in a couple of grubscrews
  9. junk the rose joints and change the wishbones for the FG Leopards much better setup or if you're feeling flush..go for the Elcon ones http://www.elcon-models.com/category.php?id_category=68
  10. engine oil would be thinner than FG's 1000wt silicone oil, as roverman says1000 rear and 2000 front is stock. If you're running on fairly flat ground you could use 2000 in the rear as well. Thinner oil will give you more bounce http://rc-car-online.de/shop/en/products/y0038-y0038-oil-for-shock-absorber-all-viscosities-50-ml-1-pce-.html bit of info on shock oil weights in here
  11. Lauterbacher make some alloy upgrades for the carbon fighter...including a gear carrier for 69 euros Based on the MCD evo3
  12. very few upgrades for the yama buggy limited with tuned pipes too
  13. an 813 also has an accelerator pump, which stops it bogging down when you come off the power and then back on it. once you have the tune set, prime as normal then pump the throttle a few times and it'll start on 2-3 pulls (1 when the engine is warm)
  14. http://www.rcbodyshop.fr/bodyshells.html this place has the biggest selection of large scale bodies with a modern style car theme the on-roads can be modded to fit off road too handy wheelbase guide for selection, but you could go 15mm either way and just open arches to suit be warned, they ain't cheap....lol
  15. http://www.kamtec.co.uk/ some unusual shells here. sure you could make one fit
  16. it doesn't melt the plastic, but the catalyst used in the gelcoat does turn the lexan very brittle you can make 4-5 shells in fibre glass using a lexan shell as a mold before the lexan starts snapping

  18. are you using a 6000 or 8000 clutch spring? (black or red) are all your gears on tight what ratio are you running and what size wheel and tyre
  19. as Carpmart says, you'll have to lock the centre diff try front wheel drive too
  20. http://www.fshopups.com/FGbeetle.htm you'll spend
  21. "inch pincher" is my all time favourite, Tamiya Sandscorcher always looks good (stickers available in 1/5th scale too)
  22. had these on my marder for a couple of years now.....great bit of kit. When it comes time to replace the balls, use Elcon ones. I bought bulk/cheap off ebay and ended up with a load of balls 4.8mm instead of 5mm. They wore the drive cups out in no time
  23. its not an aftermarket mcd carrier, Lauterbacher built it for an MCD clone. I could use the clutch bell and gears it was designed for but i thought i'd give it a go with the MCD gears first so far so good and at 69 euros against
  24. I have a W5 (truck bodied v4)and have modified the gear carrier made for the conrad reely carbon fighter by Lauterbacher http://www.lauterbacher.net/xtc/product_info.php?info=p4174_Lauterbacher-Aluminium-Getriebeplatte-fuer-Reely-Carbon-Fighter.html&XTCsid=65b2e2c4326230fcb4dee0168403f672 gear mesh was a bit tight but have about 12 hours use on it so far with no problems. Mesh loosening up too
