  1. can confirm the Absima spot light kit for thier rock van fits the FTX reciever, just fitted mine. Started on the two hitch too. pics when I finish 😄
  2. good thinking forgot aboot absima! no portal cogs but, did notice thier spot light/bar leds are in stock!
  3. So my rock vans portal cogs are slipping in one wheel, probably my own fault for pulling wheelies? but, out of stock every where! any body know if FMS cogs will work? Even then I can only find Treal an they look a bit chunkier than the FTX ones... Thanks all Jonathan
  4. if these are the same as the power wagon & max smasher I'd reccomend first upgrade to be Ramp crab steering servo (from amazon), treal metal servo mount & metal steering links. Steering servo was the first thing to go on my max smasher but, Yeah very nice, definatly on my want list!!
  5. In no way the fastest but, posting as after months of this gathering dust I finally got on a BP high an painted the sod! So stoaked on the results as this was my first 4 color job. I did do a patina layer after the first main color coat ann it came out so subtle! It made the over spray look intentional 😄 Proline 66 F150 crawler shell with numbers from Chingy!
  6. https://www.instagram.com/p/C3dEcvuse9Z/?img_index=1 My PW. just over a year old now a ford F150 bob tail, Injora shell. Mods include Ramp crab steering servo with Trael ally mount & Injora brass steering links. Injora brass front an Treal Brass extanded rear high clearance links. Injora wheels an tyres with 7mm brass hex's front an 5mm rear. I have it set up soft springs on the rear an medium front. While this give me great climbing I'm deffo going back to medium rears as the super LCG snags on janky crawls. Next for this is a either a stripped down an lowered FMS PW shell or maybe a lexan atlas 6x6 shell for lighter wieght up top. Bloody love these little rigs!
  7. O h yeah, forgot to post this https://www.instagram.com/p/C38RqRCsr_z/
  8. good thinking, the bumper is pretty solid plastic but, yeah I didnt think of that. There is a cross brace that the body clips into. I'll give it a measure later. see if any other brands parts will fit..
  9. Will do, had a little look an theres a solid bumber screwed to the body shell, with enough plastic to put a couple holes in. seems solid enough to tow a trailer....?
  10. P.S all in all I spent aboot £90 & this Kamtec shell is great!
  11. Hi All Well, I don't think we can be RC enthusiasts without at least one VW bugg 😄 . So here's my latest brfore & after & first RC Baja Beetle. It was a Maverick iON MT 1:18 truck that I picked up from model sport 'second hand' for £45 as a cheap don't care if it breaks kinda car. The original shell was cheap AF an broke straight away So, when browsing I found this 1:16 Kamtech on the eBay as well as the spoiler. Needed to raise the shell up to fit. Found some body post extender kits for the car as the same chassis is used on loads of different shells. This left a huge gap So, the "Roost gaurds" are 1:10 crawler ladders glued on. I've been told the front bumper mount screw is easily damaged, extended the roost gard to cover that. I was going to do a two tone paint job but, got impatiant an bottled out! Pretty stoaked on how it came out. Fast as it needs to be for it's little size & pulls wheelies when my vortex does'nt 😞 Just waiting for the rain to ef orf now. Jonathan
  12. Got my Rock van EVO the weekend gone, bloody love it! It actually climbs better than my modded Power Wagon!! That was a bit of a shocker :'D made mine a Yota cos those stripes. Deffo gonna want longer shocks, doe anybody know if Injora/Treal fit? Was into the axle mounted servo mod but, seen online that that restricts suss travel.. The tyres are great, I can actually get them to squeal!!! An I think the climbing ability might be due to the wheels, or the bigger motor :'D One thing I'm deffo doing is a trailer to make it a tow van for my FMS's So anybody know of a tow hitch that fits? been on Injora an most of thiers seem to be for traxxis, will they fit? Any help appreciated. They're sold out now as well as all the upgrades so, seems like they're getting popular. P.S only gripe is it has bushings, I think every thing else is metal though? Jonathan
  13. Hi sorry for the absolutley silly question but...... Has any ever put Arrma D Boots on a 1:10 tourer chasis like my FTX banzai? I know it's silly but I'm building a street truck/car park ragger with a crawler truck shell. Thing is I'm snapping wheels on the regular an want some wheels with all out strength Cheers
  14. Hi All Long story short. I've bought the wrong truck so, I'm trying to turn my absima CR3.4 crawler into a bouncer. Problem is I'm destroying steering servos. Snapping the heads clean off. Gone through 3 in 2 days like, less than a hours driving. Admittedly they where cheap servos with brass heads. I do have 22mm wheel spacers on my 2.2 wheels. I have seen a YT vid that suggests wheel spacers are terrible for servos (and wheel swoop). I do like the spacers and my truck needs them for the 2.2's to clear the truck, HELL even the stock wheels had way to much wheel rub for my liking! I have a Power HD in the post that looks to have a steel head, paid aboot £35 so i'll see how long that one lasts. American Bouncer forums are suggesting servos WAY out of my price range. I was advised to remove the steering damper from the truck as they break servo heads but, I think I'm going to put it back on? (I'm starting to think these are just ***** trucks 😞 So.. before I buy an expensive servo, what's the opinion on the wheel spacers breaking the sevo heads, should I get rid go smaller sapcers, smaller wheels, are wider axles availible for the CR3.4. Should i look into a servo saver (i was advised against them)?? Thanks in advance for any opinions and help (complete newb since Jan 23) Jonathan
  15. Popped up today, AWESOME dusty, roost conditions! Should've took my GoPro. Ran two LiPo's through the Vorteks but, didn't see anyone. Next time it rains I'm gonna start building. Just little stuff like moguls an rollers that can be gapped, make a better job of the little jumps that are allready there for bashing an see if I'm upsetting any one.
  16. Awesome! what you reckon? Seems like a nice size loop to me. All we need now is some features, jumps berms etc.. I been digging an building MTB an BMX stuff all me life but, not sure on the sizes of stuff for RC? especially with all the different speeds of the trucks...
  17. It's a spot in Bury st Eds/Roughham industrial estate. Near Sealy's could find it on google maps if you follow the A14..
  18. Hi So, I had an idea this could be a good spot for some pirate track building for both buggies/dirt/trucks & crawlers. I poped up to have a look an found that some body has allready made a little loop. I think it's teens on scooters/mopeds. All the loop needs is some lumps, bumps an berms building (I'm sure the scooters won't mind 😄 ) I've been building BMX & MTB trails all my life so this shouldn't take long with a barrow an a few helpers 😉 The area has large banks around it so some great areas to build crawler lines. It's usually litter free so no broken glass dumped rubbish etc. There's even a little pond for RC boats 😄 Only problem is there's not a lot of parking nearby...
  19. Just ordered my 5th car. Just a cheap dr?ft/power slide FTX Banzai. Purely for a mess about 'don't care if I break it' rig for some car park fun They were right when they said RC is addictive!!!
  20. Two Mile Bottom, yeah used to MTB there in my teens. Deffo gonna check that out too!
  21. been out in Thetto forest a bit with the Arrma, gonna take the crawler to the bombholes soon. Has anybody ever made it up Castle hill in Thetto? Got a week off for Easter an gonna give that a try! Should be fun😁
  22. I don't know enough about stuff yet to reccmend it or not but, I was after an all out crawler an the Absima seems like a good 'scale'/ 'trail'truck that's a bit of both rather than a pro crawler. It is packed with features though like the two speed box an un/lockable F&R diff switches. That an the sale price is why I picked it over the FTX. Gonna have fun modding it tho :'D
  23. Hi All Jonathan from Bury st Edmunds here. 7 weeks into the hobby as a complete newb apart from my second hand Boomerang I had as a kid. Iv'e been a life long BMX/MTB'er an afer a few very hard slams an injuries I've finnaly come to the realisation at 49 I'm getting old! SO, winding in the MTB an was allways interested in RC an crawlers. I asked another MTB friend who is into crawlers for advice on a cheap, fun no worries if I smash it crawler. He showed me the FMS Power Wagon an I HAD to have one! soon after that I saw the Ford pick up body an found out about the Max Smasher so..... HAD to have one of them as well! Then, I decided I wanted a 1/10 truck/buggy to get me out the house an into the woods an again. The Arrma Vorteks was recomended and purchased, 4WD kit fitted. Happy with those trucks but, 1/10 crawlers started to tempt me.... I was into the FTX at the price range I was looking at but was recommended the Absima CR3.4. Went for the Khambra as it in the price range I was looking at, especially at £100 off! Gotta say not overly impressed with this truck as the others I have. The stock tyres rub on the body shell out of the box so obviously I ordered bigger ones :'D currently upgrading this truck with metal parts but, looking into 'comp' style bodies as wasn't a big fan of the FJ anyway.... Mostly I'm here looking to find spots an clubs in the Norfolk,Suffolk an Cambs area. Meet ups and events. REALLY looking forward to this hobby!!!
