What sort of licence do you need for that. I presume it gets classified as a historic vehicle, rather than a commercial hauler?

I imagine it would be fun trying to retrofit a modern digi tacho unit into old school army wiring!

@Nitroholic need a class 2 as it's over 7.5ton

If your carefull you can get them under 7.5ton and drive them on grandad rights and have them down plated 

But register as private hgv so don't need a tacho 

Or  fit them out with seats and register as agricultural gun bus 

The other option is to fit a crane and register as special plant and drive them on a car license
