  1. It only just touches at the end of travel and I haven't noticed any lack of steering at all. A lengthened arm would definitely cause issues with the standard servo. Took it for a blast at the park today, bit wet so proper roosters from the wheels. So much fun...the cleaning after not so much! How's the heat with the 15T? Everything still cool?
  2. I have attached a few pics of mine which is standard. I think what you are describing is normal.
  3. That's awesome - their customer service is really excellent. They must be well practiced in sending out replacement parts 🤣
  4. If its a new buggy give cml distribution a call on their support line, my experience is their support is excellent. They will get you sorted fast. You need to be prepared to do some spannering when owning this range of ftx. Can you not borrow the cup & grub from the outlaw until its sorted? Might be the same part?
  5. Ah cool glad you found it, shame the car came like that. Be sure to use some locktite or it will most likely come loose.
  6. Is the grub screw tight at the spur gear end? And on the flat part of the shaft? Ours used to come loose until we started using locktite on it. Also check the slipper clutch is tight enough
  7. Awesome, congrats you will have a ton of fun with it 😀
  8. If you look purely at the cost of parts the Carnage is cheaper. For example we cracked the front diff housing on the Carnage a couple weeks ago and it cost £2.84 to replace that one part, if we had done the same on the DR8 it's £8.08..still cheap but quite a difference. Saying that we seem to break the Carnage every other bash - the DR8 is run nearly every day and we are yet to break anything. So my own experience so far with these cars is the DR8 has been cheaper to repair/run cos I haven't managed to break it yet 🙂 I really shouldn't have said that...im so going to break something expensive on the DR8 next run now!
  9. Not trying to sway you one way or the other as I dont own an Outlaw, but we do own both an FTX Carnage (same range as Outlaw) and a DR8. In my opinion there is a noticeable difference in quality between the Carnage and DR8, the Carnage is obviously a cheaper build and more fragile compared to the DR8 which is built like a tank. That said the Carnage is cheap as chips to repair and pretty easy to work. Both have good points and bad, both are fun to drive!
  10. If it helps the DR8 is £322 at appliance electronics with cyber5 voucher code. Thats where I got mine. Plus 60 quid for 2x 3S lipos on amazon, plus charger. Certainly cheaper than 500. I believe it can be run on 4S too so 2x 2S lipos are cheaper still.
  11. Yesterday I did this to my model...new centre shaft on order!
  12. That's a bargain! When you upgrade to brushless I would switch to a metal pinion/acetal spur. We upgraded my sons carnage to brushless and the original spur didn't last long at all. The acetal is holding up nicely.
  13. Sorry ignore my post, just spoke with their tech support and its a dead fan. I got straight through on the phone to the CML tech support, quick convo, emailed them the invoice - 20mins later they email to say a new fan is in the post. Can't get better service than that! Edit: New fan arrived already, 20hrs after calling their tech support. Amazing. Man this car is fast....
  14. Hi Folks, My new DR8 just arrived in the post, happy days 🙂 I have plugged it all in and steering and drive works great, however the ESC fan isnt on. Is this normal? Does it only turn on when needed? All previous cars I owned the ESC fan is on all the time.
  15. Hi, if you mean the centre drive cup I found it to be m4x4mm
  16. For info the DR8 can be had for £322 at appliance electronics. Use the voucher code cyber5 bargain for a 6S car.
  17. Hi, Does anyone know the size of the centre shaft drive cup grub screw for the Flux XT? Managed to strip one and had to butcher it to get it out, the cup is OK but not sure what size grub to buy (the parts diagram doesn't help!) Thanks
  18. While waiting for the diff oil to arrive I thought I would give the suspension a once over. Always seemed like a bit of a black art to me before. Did a bit of research (glad I found this forum its awesome) and adjusted the toe and camber all round also put some shims behind the wheel hubs. The difference is incredible, it actually does what I want now, the oversteer is much more controllable 😀 Still going to play with the diff oil I think, just to learn the effect before getting a bigger car!
  19. I'm interested in the Quantum, PM sent.
  20. Awesome thanks, I will start with those and see how it handles. Both diffs have seals so should be ok with oil I think. Parts support for the car is non existent so just using it on 2S to learn this kind of stuff before purchasing something better.
  21. Hi Folks, I'm looking for some diff advice for my Hobbyking Rattler. It's a 1/8 (well more like 1/9 really) buggy with front/rear diffs, no centre. Currently it only has stock grease in the diffs and is very tail happy on loose dirt where I mostly run it - I'm considering switching to oil but a bit confused on the weights. Most of the info I can find is based on having a centre diff too. Would like a 40/60 ish split front/rear if possible, can anyone advise on oil weight? Thanks Dave
