  1. Thanks mate. I blame the tracer for the truck fetishism tbh 🀣 bought it on a whim and it turned out to be an absolute blast (and damn near indestructible) . After a week of hooning that little truck I was well and truly bitten by the rc bug.
  2. Ah, ok cool. Just making sure it went flush with the chassis. Thanks mate
  3. Really appreciate the advice. Was tempted by the aluminium chassis just a bit tight budget wise atm, definitely going to give it another look now though. The zorro bumper is a good shout, is it a direct replacement fit wise?
  4. Not today but the most recent maintenance on my FTX Carnage involved making a small brace to support a new front bumper due the chassis holes being trashed as they are a weak point. Also had to patch a minor crack in the body, used some gaffer tape to strengthen the underside and wide clear tape on the upper shell. Bit rough around the edges but I am to cheap to buy a new shell atm πŸ˜‚
  5. Hi all. Had my brushed carnage 2.0 for a month and already destroyed the front bumper lol. Obviously the bumper is cheap and easy to replace, although it'd be nice to be able to buy the Y bracket separately. My issue is with the front mount screw holes on the main chassis as they are drilled so close to the edge of the chassis they broke through after my first collision. I have seen there is a carnage/vantage front chassis part listed at my local model shop and was hoping to find out if it would fit the standard carnage chassis? I don't want to have to replace the entire chassis if possible just for the same weak point to go again. Any advice appreciated and apologies for the rambling lol
  6. Cheers mate. My oldest is probably the most interested but the lure of pixilated distraction often trumps other activities πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ thinking of buying him a Tamiya kit for Christmas to see if that might get him more enthusiastic. Best I had was a tyco buggy when I was little but I remember a family friend had a Hornet and it looked the dogs danglies, as a result i have coveted a "proper" RC Car ever since, now I'm a big boy I can do what I want.....as long as my wife says it's okay 😜 Jokes aside after lockdown it's been a great way to connect with one of my best mates, and the hobby is such a conversation starter when you're out and about...the amount of people I've directed to my local Hobby Shop (Addlestone model centre) increases on every bash πŸ˜€ they still won't give me a discount though 🀣 Thanks for the warm welcome 🍻
  7. Or cupboard space to hide any future additions lol
  8. Evening all, Been lurking on here for a month or so and thought I should say hello properly. My name is Richard, but mainly go by Ratty online, a 42 year old chap from Surrey. Pretty new to hobby RC after a small toe dip many moons ago with nitro Acme condor (aka "The Macgyver" due to copious use of whatever was on hand to fix the many MANY driver error related booboos) Bought an FTX tracer for my lads a couple months back and found I was more interested than them. Myself and an old mate have taken to meeting up for a good old bash in the evenings when we can, our most regular hooning spot is Brooklands Park in Weybridge. After promising my missus I wasn't going to get sucked into the hobby, I have since also bought an FTX carnage 2.0, SG1802 mini crawler and a couple of HS183xx models. Really enjoying bashing but also enjoying tinkering and maintaining the trucks too. Hope to speak more with you good folk and potentially meet up at some point. All the best, Ratty
  9. Been frequently heading over to Brooklands good mix of skate park, tarmac, hills and tracks. Also went to the bmx track on addlestone Moor for a fun..but very dusty...bash
  10. Hello all, Just got my Pinecone model SG1802 1:18 scale crawler through the post and seems good fun during my brief front room test. I seem to have a bit of an intermittent issue with the servo just stopping responding, if I bump over something or manually turn the wheels it starts working again. Wondering if it is an issue anyone here may have encountered before and is fixable or just a faulty servo that will need to be replaced? Servo is labelled: micro Servo 9g sg90 Really new to the hobby so my technical know how is limited at best so any advice much appreciated πŸ™‚
  11. Apologies for taking ages to reply. Definitely up for scouting out the locations you mentioned. With work and the kids off school trying to find time to run is proving difficult. Resorted to taking my oldest out to under Walton Bridge after I finished work as it was the only place under cover and with relatively decent surface...although strangely when we pulled up and started driving our RCs the cars parked there suddenly needed to leave πŸ€” not sure what that was all about πŸ˜‚
  12. I'm over Weybridge and Walton area mate, brand new to the hobby and I'm interested in finding some places to bash my little FTX Tracer. Happy to meet up at some point if you know any good (newbie lol) spots
