About Me

I bought my first RC car back in 2004 but have always been interested in RC modeling. The car I bought was the Tamiya  1/10th scale Subaru WRX Burns & Reid rally car kit. I had loads of fun building it and very quickly upgraded the steering turnbuckles. This model sat on top of the wardrobe for about 17 years til a couple of months ago when I decided to get some alloy wheels for it, it was something I'd always wanted to do to it but never got around to, I also fitted some fake alloy brake discs all round too. I then found on Amazon the Tamiya Lunchbox kit complete with all the electrics to get it up an running, needless to say it found its way to my front door. Now several weeks on the van is a work in progress having had Fastrax oil filled shocks all round, alloy wheels and rear hubs, chassis modifications to take an RC winch on the front and a rear bumper fabricated from aluminium channel section fixed to the rear axle casing with towing shackles front and rear and a towing hitch ball. I have also used one of the friction shocks from the TL01 spares box for the fifth shock on the transmission housing. I am currently awaiting delivery of the AMPRO double wishbone kit and the lighting buckets and I can't wait for their arrival. I like the look of the Dynahead 6 x 6 kit so that could be the next project.
