  1. On my old shiite Fiesta, that has been there a fair while
  2. Well, we had some snow, for a change, so had a muck around with the HR. http://www.youtube.com/user/TheBACKYARDBASHERS#p/a/u/0/Yq4voDP2T-c
  3. Really good fun, this little car is a real trooper. Nothing broke, and was a right laugh. Our first ride out with this great little car... http://www.youtube.com/user/TheBACKYARDBASHERS#p/a/u/1/yZilqb-KiLg
  4. I have been in and out of this thread. I was not going to post anything, but I can,t help it. That video was great to watch, very nicely produced. And that was it. I suspect there is a Petrol Community in the RC world, that maybe feel superior to Nitro users, and love to show off their stuff to demonstrate how Petrol is the way to go. But this video, along with a lot of others weakens the arguement. `Any damage?` No, cus nothing happened. Donuts on wet grass, whatever next? You actually had to clean it? Call the police! Grass all over it, after running on wet grass, who,d have thought? Any RC is a Good RC, don,t get me wrong, but `quids per fun`, that is a very tall order. I hope you keep making vids, as you are good at that, but perhaps of something more exciting, which will possibly not be able with heavy, saggy petrols, that generally are more form over function. Keep at it, as more vids are anticipated of your more adventurous outings, exciting, content filled and maybe a little more `dangerous` perhaps. Yes, more dangerous than sliding around on wet grass.
  5. Look to thy self friend, ha ha kid pretending to be american owned People in glasshouses etc...
  6. Also handy where you have a loose dusty surface somtimes. If you need more grip/grab, these can be good, but if traction is not too bad, you can suffer grip roll and too much bite.
  7. Just richen it a bit, and tune it as you go.
  8. We are all constantly kept under control through gov policies, and the media. You are told what to think, and believe, and how to behave. And you all soak it up, just like you are supposed to. From 1984 Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. Let them eat Ipods. God bless America.
  9. Some rant there, Praetorian! The election will be next May. For some while now, I have thought there should be `Silly Bugger Clause`, in court cases where the claimant should know better. Had a trip or fall? Maybe you should look where you are smeggin going! There was a woman who tripped over some kids playing on the floor in McDonalds, and smacked her elbow, or something, and successfully sued them for damages, as the kids were not being supervised properly, and caused a hazzard. The kids were HERS! Coffee cups with warnings printed on them, `Contents may be hot`. No **** sherlock. A lot of pipes now have warnings on them, `may be hot`. And it winds me up. It is like saying the sea is wet, beware! Gets my goat. I would love to start seeing cases were the judge chucked it out due to the SBC (silly bugger clause). `Well M,Lud, I shoved this pencil in my ear, it really hurt, and I have had no end of trauma since then. There was no warning on the package about potential ear problems, and I want eighteen squillion quid from the pencil co. (Judge) Well, the SBC applies here, now naff off, and grow up. Next!
  10. `Top` motors are made by Novarossi, same as Rex too.

    Roto start

What battery do you have in the Rotostarter, and how are you charging it? And how old is the motor?
  12. 70 MPH ? Easy. Thrown off a cliff.
  13. Give them a call/mail. Also listed on Podium.. http://www.podiumrc.co.uk/product-104667.php But I guess they would be ordering them in as well. You probably are lookin at 7 to 10 days at a guess.
  14. `@ Servo - i hate my hyper stalling the other side of a rugby pitch and needing to retrieve it back to base to re start it tho Don,t get me wrong, think pull starts have thier place and use them on several vehicles. Perhaps you should check out why you are stalling Trooper. Lonewolf, it may still be usable, depending on how badly worn it is. You need a part number really to locate a new wheel. I had a quick look around but no luck. Hobao,s site is poo! btw
  15. Maybe Muse could do a ReMix of their new album, and put some smeggin guitar in it! I liked that, by the way. Would it be ok if I used some in a bash vid? I would credit the relevant person of course.
  16. Nope, no problem. If you decide to only use the box in the future, think about ditching the pullie and fitting a back plate. Less resistance on the motor, chance of leaking, stuff to go wrong etc.
  17. The different colour springs should make a difference, but it could be minimal just on their own. You can find spring charts if you look around, such as this one for Losi springs FRONT BUGGY SPRINGS Losi Part # A-5128 2" Spring 2.5 Rate (Red) A-5129 2" Spring 2.9 Rate (Orange) A-5130 2" Spring 3.2 Rate (Silver) A-5132 2" Spring 3.5 Rate (Green) A-5134 2" Spring 3.8 Rate (Blue) A-5135 2" Spring 4.1 Rate (Black) REAR BUGGY & TRUCK (front and rear) SPRINGS Losi Part # A-5146 2.75" Spring 1.6 Rate (gray) A-5147 2.75" Spring 1.8 Rate (White) A-5148 2.75" Spring 2.0 Rate (Yellow) A-5150 2.5" Spring 2.3 Rate (Pink) A-5152 2.5" Spring 2.6 Rate (Red) A-5154 2.5" Spring 2.9 Rate (Orange) A-5156 2.5" Spring 3.4 Rate (Silver) A-5158 2.5" Spring 3.7 Rate (Green) A-5160 2.5" Spring 4.1 Rate (Blue) although I am not sure if say a black Losi spring would be the same rate as a Traxxas one, I don,t think there is an industry standard. The grub screws mentioned above are known as droop screws. The idea of these is to limit the ammount of suspension arm travel-up and down. On very smooth tracks you may want to screw these down some, and for more bumpy surfaces, all the way up. The idea is to help keep your wheels in contact with the track more often. Not to adjust your ride height. The suspension arms should be pracically horizontal at rest. I would rather not use screw-down adjusters on shock shafts. The ones that take different sized clip on rings are far easier to use. They come in assorted sizes, you usually get loads with the shocks/buggy and you can be sure you have the same spacers on each shock. Whereas unless you are using a setup table the screwdown ones you are just adjusting by eye. These can also `undo` themselves if they are a little loose or jam up if the shock gets a bit bashed around. I would suggest `pro` shocks, 45wght oil and white springs. Arms level. Sorted.

    spit test

If you are going to use spit to ascertain your running temps, on the top cooling fin is the most common way, and probably easiest to repeat more accurately. Temperature guages are also most often used pointing at the plug, I find. And if you experiment you will see that the part of the crankcase just below the bottom cooling fin is hotter, and another place you can make comparisons. Using either or both, remember that each is just a guide to tuning your motor. Not gospel. You should be tuning using temps guides, sound of the motor, exhuast smoke and how it drives.
  19. 35 - 45 should be ok, 40 as a starting point perhaps.
  20. Enjoyed that, Indie. Thanks. Great place you have there.
  21. From what I understand, it,s the other way around. They got the Palm thing in because the knew they were losing the exclusivity of the Iphone.
