  1. Don’t think I have any 500k fluid, so I’ll order some and a servo saver, haha!
  2. I made a sway bar for mine, using the Bomber parts kit, following the one fitted by RCSparks. It works well, but I want the real one, when they’re finally available? The servo saver looks to be a good idea as it can feel a bit wayward. It looks like I may need to check the diff’s for fluid! If it ever stops raining here, I have a 4s battery to try, it’s only been used 3s thus far. Cheers
  3. Thanks Stormbringer and Ag100! I’m going to look at the price of the Vitavon drive shafts and a method for shimming the diff’s, just out of interest of course. Thanks again for your comments.
  4. Why oh why do I want a Lasernut! I watch the videos and can’t imagine a better proportioned RC buggy or Rock Racer. The performance also looks stellar! I’m not wanting to diss the Lazernut, I want one but can’t quite pull the trigger. Please, have the nay sayers really over emphasised the weakness in the transmission and inability to keep it’s wheels on? People don’t report the DBPro as having the same transmission issues, even though it is just a shorter, smaller wheeled version of the same basic design? Is it that the greater torque of the motor combined with wheel size is just too much for a 1/10 drivetrain? Are there real world fixes for the reported driveshaft, diff, bulkhead and wheel nut issues? Will there be a V2 with issues ruled out? If there is, I’ll be at the front of the queue, along with many others I’m certain! The Lazernut is an itch that I’m struggling not to scratch. Love yours and the videos!!!!
  5. Hi I’m all sorted now. Thanks for looking. Cheers Steve
  6. Hi Please can you answer a couple of questions? Does it have ball bearings fitted? Is the servo included, if so, what model is it? Are oil damped shocks fitted, or is it sat on pogo sticks? Is there a motor pinion? l’d forgotten how wide and low the Zakspeed Capri were! A long way from the Capri Laser that I drove back in the day! Cheers Steve
  7. Hi I’m looking for a TT-02 or TT-02B to use in my work £200 Tamiya race series. There is a thread about it in the General/Electric section on here. Budget is up to £150 for something in good condition? Anything considered, please let me know WHY. Cheers Steve
  8. I would say it makes quite a difference. I mainly used the parts supplied in the Bomber Soft Sway Bar kit, plus 2 x 22mm pieces of nitro fuel tube as spacers. I also needed a couple of spacers, I just sourced them from my parts bin, for where the push rods mount at the axle end, as the ball ends fitted from the factory are too big to fit in the kit ball ends. The push rods are made from stainless M3 bolts, cut down to 30mm, with ball ends from the kit threaded onto them. Sideways offset (inwards) at the bottom and backwards offset(towards front) at the top. The sway bar assembly was then mounted to the axle and marked where it hits the underside of the “fuel cell”, on full suspension compression. Caution, if you get the rod ends in the wrong order, the bar contacts the “fuel cell” before the suspension is fully compressed, so would most likely cause something to break! That is what took me longest to work around. If you then drill 3mm holes, to thread the sway bar through, a little upwards and to the rear of the marks, the axle has full movement and the sway bar works without reaching any mechanical limits. I removed the “Fuel Cell” stickers so they can be fitted at a later date, should the bar be removed, the 3mm holes being the only evidence it was ever fitted. I also used a couple of the parts supplied with the kit within the “fuel cell”, screwed to the base, in order to better support the bar. That was quite involved though and hard to describe! I doubt there is much real world need for this, just me being anal. Any who, it works very well, if I do say so myself. Well worthwhile, the torque twist is far better controlled, which improves the ability to steer under power greatly. Disclaimer, it is a version (improved imho), from a modification by one of the YouTube beta testers. If I had access to the correct parts from other models, you need to see what would work, I would make something better supported by the frame. When or if the “real” sway bar is available, I will get one and fit that. This modification, very worthwhile as it is, needs better support at the 90degree bends of the torsion bars, if I am being totally honest. Fell free to PM me if you want photos or a better description of what I did. Great fun beast of a vehicle, can’t wait to get a 4s for mine, so enjoy! Cheers Steve
  9. The guys at work are going along the lines of what the cost was to you. I’m thinking that if I could find something second hand, a Tamiya Honda Civic FF03 is my favourite at the moment as I have a real Type-R, then there would be more money to make it as quick as a brushless Strada MT. Pie in the sky that though! Realistic, the Strada and Bangood motor option is looking most likely. Just need the DB10 gone to free up funds. Cheers
  10. Associated Reflex DB10 in for sale, if it meets your brief? Shameless plug for sure! Cheers Steve
  11. Pre eBay bump! Any reasonable offers?
  12. Hi The Strada RX would be a possibility? Which ESC/Motor is£47, if I can ask! Also looking into Tamiya FF03 as an option but might need lots of option parts to be quick. Cheers
  13. Hi Good idea! The buggy is as new, Reedy 3.3kv motor and SC600 esc. The same model motor/esc propel our Associated Rival MT10 with no issues. Here are a couple of images without the dust cover. Cheers
  14. Well my RBX10 has landed, most impressed! I spent a few hours bodging on a Bomber soft sway bar, as the Axial one won’t be available for a while it seems. The torque twist seen on videos, and the change made by either dual shocks or sway bar made it look worthwhile? I’ll try and post a picture. Shame is I’ve not been able to get out today, so maybe later in the week if the weather holds! Cheers
  15. Hi The £200 is for a running rc, batteries and radio included. Battery charger is a given. What is the opinion of tt02b? It has oil shocks included, just needs bearings and motor upgrade? One of the guys has just announced he has a Maverick Strada Flux MT on the way, and is taking penalty points for the cost of his battery. Not sure a MT is best for a race on concrete? Thanks for the information thus far! Cheers Steve
  16. I’ll have a compare of the Maverick v Tamiya. There is a brushless Strada, which might make the cut? Those look like Good prices for brushless setup. Cheers Steve
  17. I’m looking at that now! Thanks
  18. Hi Everybody I’m new here and looking for your advice! I have a couple of rc trucks and have got some of my workmates interested. We have come up with a £200 1/10 scale race challenge. The idea is to spend that budget, penalty points awarded for overspend, and race around a course within the confines of the work multi-storey car park. Not the smoothest of surfaces, but no rocks haha! So, where does the money go in order to win? Buggy, rally, touring, which car and from which manufacturer, it has to be 1/10, so my LC Racing is out. Any input much appreciated! Cheers Steve
  19. Due to a change of plans, Axial Ryft RBX10 incoming, I would like to sell my Associated Reflex DB10. New a couple of weeks ago, I’ve run it up and down the garage floor a couple of times and given it a health check. It’s never been outside, travelled 20 yards at most. I noticed that one of the drive wheels spun up easily and checking the diff found one of the out drives to be tight in the diff cover. This has been replaced with the hop-up aluminium cover and the diff filled with 15k fluid. All good now. A Dusty Motors cover for a Traxxas Rustler has been modified and fitted, along with the shock covers. The supply to the rear lights has been extended to ease body removal. I’d like £210, including postage in the UK, via PayPal please. There is a gallery here.
  20. My Reflex DB10 following a few jobs to prepare it for first use.
