  1. What does the manual say? Some chargers specifically say to plug them into the wall first, then plug in the battery. Otherwise you literally see behaviour what you described. As a rule of thumb, never ever plug the battery first. At least I have never seen a manual that says to do so. It doesn't make any sense either to do so as the battery can be empty or faulty.
  2. I've got three SCX10 IIs and I have different size 1.9" tyres to them, from 4.75" to 4.19". The bodies are different sizes, and I made a "comp" rig from one by removing the rock sliders and bumpers so it's sort of poor mans Capra. Tyre size doesn't seem to matter that much although there's a noticeable difference, biggest performance difference is with a body that needs to be light to keep the center of gravity low. Next is the size of the body that needs to be small so it doesn't get stuck on rocks, I didn't want to go full derp so I added a small bumper, leds, and a spare tyre. With small RC4WD Wrangler MT/R 4.19" tyres, plastic beadlocks, and 7.2V 1200 NiMH it weights 2kg/4.5lbs. It's ridiculous how tricky places it can drive compared to the bigger and heavier SCX10 IIs. I tried bigger RC4WD Wrangler MT/R 4.75" tyres on metal beadlocks on it, but it raised the center of gravity and made it roll over easier. Because of the metal beadlocks and bigger tyres the weight of the tyres more than doubled but it didn't help with climbing or sidehilling. Here's video I made of the white SCX10 II "Sport", metal beadlocks with 4.35" Pit Bull Berserkers and huge 8.4V 3000mAh NiMH.
  3. Thanks, it's actually just an RTR with white stripes etc. The cage I painted with Rubbercomp(plastidip) spray paint. I honestly don't like american cars but the level of details in this one is pretty good. The location is in Finland at the Arctic Circle City called Rovaniemi(yes the Santa Claus city), there's a lot of ice age revealed bedrock in here. The 330ft hilltop where I usually drive is just 10min drive from city center. About 30min drive is this place, it's also ice age shaped bedrock and rocks. https://www.outinthenature.com/sukulanrakka-devils-churns-in-rovaniemi/

  5. https://imgur.com/a/kLVck4O This is what I use for everything, shoot and edit with old Sony smartphone. I would say get the lighting right, then get someone who can use a camera. It's a huge difference when you don't shoot the video alone. I've done only outdoor videos of driving a crawler, it would be so great to shoot the video without driving the car the same time. What I miss the most is an optical zoom. Also for videos I would love to mount the camera to another car, chase camera, dolly shot, the world of movie style footage would open.
  6. I started this hobby Jan 2020 with Redcat Gen7 Sport to my son, then TRX-4 TRAXX for myself. Then this old model was on sale for £290 and wanted to see if they are any good. I'm not a fan of american cars but this is pretty good looking box stock. The tyres and wheels were horrible so I swapped them and added a lexan spare tyre. I didn't like the stock front bumper so I swapped it to Axial '67 C10 front bumper that was a direct fit. The cage is removable so I painted it and added little white tape to sides. These were on £290 sale on various sites through the summer so I bought another one, I'm going to make the other body different looking during the winter. Good idea of removing or making the cage smaller, I have to try it to the new build. The windshield is removable too so I have to see how that would look, the driver has goggles so why would he need a windshield... The RTR comes with steel links and gears, universal joints in front, 3ch radio, 12" wheelbase. It comes with leds on bumper that I swapped to front grille light buckets that were led ready. Included was three drivers heads, eight light buckets with lenses, mounting hardware to put a spare tyre to back inside the cage, and other scale stuff. Here's a little footage of how it looks now. https://youtu.be/Cu_5V2hbapI
