  1. No worries mate 👍 Yeah I just use this: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=395660 . I have 2 of them now. They're basic, but inexpensive, and instead of 3 1/2 hours they take 30 mins to charge a 2200mah lipo
  2. Cheers Redback. I did check a few other shops, including Wheelspin, but theirs is actually priced 15 quid higher. Plus I want to keep supporting MS as they've always been good as gold and the service is second to none.
  3. Hello mate, welcome to the forum WL models might be a good place to start. They're small (1/12 - 1/18 scale), cheap to buy, cheap and easy to fix, but still pretty fast and fully proportional. Take a look on Banggood.com and see if anything takes you/your sons fancy. EDIT: And if you want something a little better quality & are willing to spend a bit more then Maverick offer some decent models for £110-160
  4. Well I went to order my Hyper VS 100A this morning and would you be believe it, currently out of stock. 😣 So gonna wait until they come back into stock at Modelsport and then I shall be joining the owners club.
  5. They are two stunning cars there mate Gorgeous bodies too, one of my favourite cars in real life the R34 Skyline. Good memories of Need for Speed Underground on the PS2, haha
  6. @Derka That is a thing of beauty mate! Very nice
  7. So the new parts arrived for my ZD Truggy and I got started on the repairs. Got the new centre driveshafts in there no probs, then came to disassembling the front end and I ran into a few issues... Managed to get it out after quite a struggle and a few swear words & then immediately realised I ordered the wrong pins 😩 And not only that but where the swing arm snapped off the mount it also snapped the pin so the threaded bit is now stuck inside the mount 😣 Oh and just to top things off the orange aluminium front bumper piece is quite bent out of shape so gonna need a new one of them as well. So could be another few weeks now before its up & running again while I'm waiting on the other parts I need. Wish I had looked over it more thoroughly before chucking it in the garage and thinking I knew exactly what I needed but hey ho, you live & learn. But I guess some good news is the new shell looks nice 😁 (EDIT: Apologies for the long-winded post)

  9. Hello Richard, welcome to the forum mate
  10. Cheers mate 👍 and yeah it's surprisingly thick actually. Probably twice as thick as the WL bodyshells and thicker than my Maverick shells too. The only model I own that has a better quality body is my Losi LST2 from 15 years ago, haha. Hopefully ill have some footage to share in the next few days mate 🙂
  11. The parts have finally arrived from Banggood after a 6 week wait. Time to get her fixed up, and hopefully the weather improves so I can get out for a little drive today 🤞 I've missed this truggy, it's a hell of a lot of fun
  12. The parts to repair my ZD Racing Pirates 3 truggy have finally arrived after a 6 week wait. I've missed driving this RC, but should be all up & running again in about an hours time 👍 Then it's just a matter of waiting for this rain to ease up a bit 🙏
  13. Hello mate, welcome to the forum
  14. @Forbez Hello mate, welcome to the forum Those are indeed 2s lipo batteries. I wouldn't recommend running 3s on these as it's likely to burn out the motor and/or the esc too. They're fast enough on 2s anyway, around 30-35mph top speed. Using the charger that these models are supplied with take a good 3 - 3 1/2 hours to charge these batteries so i'd suggest getting a better charger as soon as you can.
  15. You're welcome mate. Yes it is a bit longer so you may struggle to fit something that size in yours. Maybe take a look at some 3300mah - 4000mah lipos as they do vary in size a bit and you might just find one that fits 👍 A 2600mah will give you about 20 minutes run time. To be honest though, from my own experiences I feel that 20 mins is a pretty decent run time for these models. As when you drive them continuously for more than that you will find the motor & esc does get pretty hot, and then you risk burning them out.
  16. So with my 5200mah battery in my 124018 I get about 35-40 mins run time. You can expect about the same from your 144001 as it has exactly the same motor & weighs pretty much the same amount. Yeah the bigger capacity lipos don't simply just fit in there, I had to remove the whole battery tray on my 124018 & also a piece of the bodyshell and then the battery would fit sideways (see photos below)
  17. Those parts look awesome mate, really nice shade of red
  18. @DRoth Nice one mate 👍 you've done well to get a 6000mah in there to be honest. Must be a tight fit! The motor must get pretty hot by the end of a session with that battery. I know mine does on my 124018 when im running my 5200mah 60c Vorjay.
  19. @Andy JP They do look really nice mate, good colour choice
  20. Ah right well hopefully it's an easy fix mate. Weird noises are surely the bane of an RC enthusiasts life, lol. Might just need to strip it down give it all a good clean if there's any snow & crap that got in. I think i'm gonna go for the 100A, as the more i've ponderered over which one to get, the more i've thought that I don't ever need to run 6s. At least not yet.. that'll be later down the road but in a different RC.
  21. Yeah i bet it rips mate. I've always really liked the look of the Hyper ST, if they made an electric RTR version i'd probably buy that in an instant lol. Still, the buggy is one i've always wanted, since back in the nitro days when the Hyper 7 was brand new. Gonna order one in the next few days
  22. Ah right, fair enough mate. Well if it's either one, 15 or 18kg, hopefully it's still up to the task, but if they aren't waterproof then I'll probably be replacing mine as well. Or just try to never take it out in even slightly wet conditions... if that were possible in this country lol.
  23. Nice one man 👍 So what was the main reason you went for the higher KV & bigger pinion then? Bit more top end but sacrifice some of that initial torque/acceleration, right? I'm guessing the standard 2000kv with 14/15 pinion is going to be quicker off the mark than the setup you're running, but probably run out of steam alot sooner and be maybe 10mph slower top speed? Anyway, you're right, I already know that i'll love it, I need to stop procrastinating and just buy one
  24. Cheers again mate 👍 I wasnt even aware they came with a program card. I'm sure that'll come in handy if I need to mess about with the punch level & braking power to get it how I want it. Yeah i've checked the specs on loads of different websites and some of them are pretty vague so that's why I wasn't completely sure. I thought the servo could be different as well as most of the shops list the 150A version with an 18kg servo but none of the listings for the 100A version state the torque of the servo.
