Also what would be your shock setup recommendation?

Limit the shocks so they cant lift only droop with rubber tube.
Remove the shocks and replace with 2 rod ends and some threaded bar.

Its a basher wing from an arrma typhon so it can take a hit.

No doubt, but the metal plate may bend. I think keeping it close to the wheels vs far infront will have a greater impact to disrupt the air.

I ran a limitless and its front F1 nose setup would be great scaled down and bolted onto the vantage. mmm.
But for real you dont need a massive wing on the front to fix any issues until you run into them.

Here you can see a smashing run on open wheel and hes got a little wedge for the front flat wing at the back and this is 1/7th scale.

@Redback with regards to weight, start with 40g and move up 10g at a time?

Im not sure tbh, this is a feel thing and i only started tuning these things once it started to flip.
i did begin with aero mods like you are but i found once it crashed and broke it wasnt worth repeating. (did some metal and 3d printed stuff)

I think the splitter is too large and sticks out to much this may cause to much drag and make performance worse, these things are worth trying for the fun, if you dont wreck the car i guess.
I note your springs are wound all the way, id look at tuning these and the camber and toe before doing any runs.
The green one looks like its toeing out quite a bit and the ride height seems quite heigh still, how far are the from the ground when loaded?

The reason the banzia now has the carbon fiber is i know they lift at 110mph + as another driver with same car is having the same issue, hes flips even with a long drag wheel attached so thats when this stuff is key..
I was looking at lonewolfs vantage a while ago, if i was modding the vantage, id use carbon fiber under the front plate and drop the ride height to the floor.
On the front plate id then have a block that has a 10` angle this would affix to the carbon fiber front wing.
Something like this quick 3d mockup.
Note the screw pattern, use 4 front screws 2 of the diff ones 2 of the bumper ones.

    image.png?ex=65ee2aee&is=65dbb5ee&hm=fdc9c354a2994e5f66cd2b3ce5745369b44388bea52e0299a3cda922eca57184&image.png?ex=65ee2b67&is=65dbb667&hm=8abf2e830c4cefdb80a7431e63d92390aa255809b40453546b5b22f2a129f875&

The wing at default height would lay basically flat, as you drop the front ride height, you gain downforce as per the sequence below.
Left full droop, Right stock setup.

Oh my, that’s definitely a good looking truck….

i had a lwb Toyota twin cab, looked awesome on the shelf but extremely limited outdoors, by the sounds of it, this is better.

Nah i think you nailed it on the head, same tf2 platform, terrible drive shaft angles, weak leaf springs, cheese screw hardware and just vastly over priced kit.
Was happy to get mine but happier to get rid of it. Would avoid unless you like a shelf queen that wont sell for close to what you paid for it. Resale value of these is pants.

I'll give em credit for throwing in inner fenders, any scaler shouldnt be without and usally have to buy seperate and they are like hens teeth to get in stock.

  5. Hurricane updates.
Moving servo, testing front mounted and top mounting.
Added weights to the front splitter and moved shock ends in as was binding on wheels and running to low.
Moving the servo gives room behind the motor for larger escs and longer motors (if you cut back the chassis somewhat.

Oh nice! Well the vantage is about 1.3KG no battery , so getting it up to 2kg is the goal?

brass lock, that’s gotta be at least 400g right?

thanks that gives me a good idea of where to go with this!

That carbon sheet looks dope! Did you just buy that sheet and cut it yourself? Or was it bought like that?

I'd have to re weight, will do when rebuilding. The lock wasnt 400g maybe 40g. The heavier the better but there is a power to weight ratio that will start to affect performance depending on motor and gearing.
The carbon sheet comes in sheets, this is a full sheet that i cut with the dremel, the front of the splitter is the front of the body, as the chassis is mostly flat it works pretty well. Id have preffered longer sheets but thats the largest i could find.
I mounted it first then cut out the wheels, heres before the cutting. Irrc it was about 15quid a sheet and this is 2mm thick from ebay.

  7. Irrc the fully loaded banzia was like 2kg. I had a brass lock at the front to weight the front down.
    Also had a 5000mh 4s battery thats about 900grams.
Keep adding weight, but look into carbon fiber sheet this stuffs excellent for chassis.
    Example from the banzia thread.
    20230628_232229.jpg.930371352afccd3f2aa0

  8. I hope it works, but a warning from experience it doesn't help... the wing will just dig into the road and cause a crash.
Some people put a little scoop on the front to help keep the front down but nothing to this extent.
The rear wing is way to steep and will make the back heavy and front light.
I still recommend putting in an extra battery this will weight it down more and  add some lead weight on the front.

You can control the weight better than the airo, most speedrunners use flat wings to keep the car straight not add downforce.

The body usually does enough to push the car down and i doubt your loosing traction.

  10. Wow that is brutal, sorry to see it crash.
I think the dual rate to high on steering, looks like you was correcting and then power came on and the tire bit and at that point it was sideways and there was no recovery possible, same happend to me on my first speed runs.

This is on a dead bit of road that used to be a bypass that was closed.

I would be cautious of driving it on main roads towards cars, a serious actual car crash could occur and unless you have a BRCA you will not legally be covered for any liability or damages.
Drive safe 🙂 and keep at it, good luck for the ton (100mph)

  11. Nice run, drop the ride height, to much air under will make it lift. Also yeah some lead weights on the front may help personally i think the wings too angled, want somthing a bit flatter, irrc you can flip the rear wings and they work well, i ran my hobao with a flipped wing and it stooped some lift.

  12. Ah shame, hope you get some safe runs in soon. Those hoons should be good for around 100mph.
Have you heard of ROSSA?, its a UK speed run event held multiple times a year.
This imo is the best and only place to speedrun your car to its absolute max in the safest way for the car and others possible. I was unable to get over high 80s on roads due to things like surface conditions.
It was much easier to reach 100mph on this surface.
You can check them out but they only work from facebook sadly.

Howed you get on? Did the tires explode or are the dboots belted and well glued like the 1/8th brothers.

The esc should fit on the top deck over or near the steering servo or you might be able to cram it between the motor and servo. the 4s max 10 fits with a 3652 motor behind it.

  14. That looks epic m8. Nice and easy to see at a distance too.
To help keep it straight and planted with the new motor, may want to drop the ride height a little, the back will squat under load, thus you want when this happens the front to not be higher than the back. Rubber tube in the shocks can help limit them.
    What tires are you using?

New body just came after I destroyed the other one

The body I use, J Concepts Cat L1R Body

fits perfectly and the extended sides allow it to fit over bigger electronics 👍🏾👍🏾

If you move the esc that battery tray will take 2 of those 4s drone batteries, this way you can run them in parallel doubling the capacity.
Reasons to do this, as the battery takes a load, the voltage will drop having more mha means less voltage dip meaning you can keep on the throttle more.

Heres how it looked in an FTX Banzia (same chassis basically).
    IMG_20210212_202146.jpg.df8f3fd2188f6481

Also for gearing, you will have a hard time finding a smaller sput, however the traxass trx4 spur gear fits the slipper clutch and allows you to run 32dp gears rather than 48dp. This means you can run a larger pinion, running a negative or almost 1.1 ratio.

Irrc got 103mph with the that setup.
