  1. I'll take the drift tyres please. PM inbound.
  2. What about a Quanum Vandal, same as the Vantage but only £90 for a brushless buggy (minus a transmitter and receiver). I've got one, just waiting on Santa to deliver it. Bought a Flysky gt3b transmitter and receiver to go in it for less than £30, so less than £120 all in.
  3. Have you got a link to what you bought mate so I/others can avoid. Cheers.
  4. The brushless ESC is ready to run lipo as is, no setting change required, you can adjust the low voltage cut out if you like though. The brushed model comes with a different ESC altogether.
  5. Just bought the RTR Vandal from hobbyking, a spare rolling chassis and enough spares to keep me going forever. Just got to wait until Christmas for Santa to deliver (hopefully).
  6. I get terrible sea sickness as well, not something I knew when I joined the Navy, it's the reason I ended up as a Submariner. It's rough as hell on the surface due to the lack of stabilisers but rock steady when dived at a decent depth.
  7. It sounds a lot more exciting than it is, being at sea involves a lot of sleeping.
  8. I'm looking at getting some 5500mAh lipo batteries, makeitbuildit have the gens ace hard case at the best price but only have 1 in stock, I'm not wanting to order from several places and get hit with multiple delivery charges. Anyone have any idea what sort of runs times I could expect? I might not need as many as I think?
  9. What sort of runs times are you guys getting? My brushless does 6 minutes flat out on a 2200, think I need to buy some bigger batteries?
  10. New shock arrived today from HPI, fitted this afternoon so just waiting on the weather to pick up.
  11. The shaft has come away from the piston, not sure if it's damaged but unsure how it could work loose/unscrew while in transit in the box. I haven't got any oil and I'm in no rush, what with the weather being awful, so just waiting for a new shock arriving from HPI.
  12. I finally decided to go with the brushless version, it arrived yesterday but unfortunately one of the shocks has come apart in transit.
  13. I'm an ex Submariner, now I'm a Consultant Engineer which involves plenty of travel.
  14. Looking at the photos on Modelsport the brushed has a standard Tamiya and the brushless has a Deans, which is ideal.
  15. Thanks for the heads up. Am I right in thinking the connection for the battery on the car is a standard Tamiya female? Just checking as my lipos have male deans connections.
  16. I'm still undecided whether to go for the brushless or the brushed with a view to upgrading to brushless. At £70 for the etronix combo plus the cost of the brushed version is it worth the £23 over buying the brushless rtr?
  17. It does look like a good buy, especially for someone without a charger, I didn't know they sold pre-owned. Think I'm going to go for the Strada.
  18. Time Tunnel Models are doing the Brushed (minus battery and charger) for £114 and the brushless for £161, so £47 difference. Does anyone have any links or part numbers for a decent/suitable upgrade ESC and motor combo please?
  19. Hello, I'm new to this forum and RC cars in general. I'm looking at a budget electric truggy to add to my T-Maxx and Outlander, looking at a Maverick Strada MT or FTX Carnage (leaning towards the Strada). Having been reading as much info from this site as I can, am I right in thinking a brushed model would be a better buy at about £70 cheaper, then stick a goolrc brushless combo in for just over £30 and the rest left over towards lipos and or a new receiver? I've got a decent battery charger and a few 2S batteries plus I'd like to use my TQI transmitter. Thanks I advance.
  20. Hello, I'm a 40 odd year old engineer, new to this forum and rc cars. I've currently got a T-Maxx 3.3 which I'm having snags with, which is how I came across this site. I'm also looking at getting an electric truggy in the not too distant future. So I've joined to soak up all the combined knowledge from what seems to be the most popular RC forum.
