  1. The Vitavon centre diff case is much better than stock, when I build mine it is a much better made item with just the one cap, which is nice and thick, they dont come with a gasket so just used my own. Not sure on the Techno shafts, i fitted the full Vitavon set, I know the teckno is a popular upgrade, so may be worth asking on a few of the Facebook pages?
  2. That does sound like a V1, I thought the decals on the new ones were painted on?, I think the new ones had the uprated rear gearbox case with a bigger pinion bearing (like the Vitavon upgrade). Agreed on the centre diff case, the cover is prone to warping and leaks, again Vitavon make one which is a much better design (but not cheap. I guess it depends on how you run it, mine has an easy life, it doesn't get Bashed (really dislike that term for some reason) it just gets driven in the woods with some small jumps, they drive really well, but Horizon did a terrible job in the QC and obviously used the cheapest parts, I enjoy the tinkering and upgrading so don't mind its short comings, I think mine is now pretty bullet proof (famous last words), but plenty of people running stock with no issues.
  3. Stole @.AJ.idea and made some rock guards for my ESC & Motor fan, just used some aluminium mesh from B&Q.
  4. I think Traxxas get a bad rep for being so litigious 😀
  5. Do your self a favour and order the LOSB3569 Dif gears, these are much better and don’t seem to require as much shimming, I’ve done all three with these. As you say the QC is all over the place, but I guess are can be said of most brands RTR
  6. Two little videos to show how effective the UkMonsters double wishbone suspension is, no more bump steer or adverse camber. IMG_0218.MOV IMG_0219.MOV
  7. Apologies, been with customers all day, when I rebuilt mine with the SCTE Gears (LOSB3569), I fount that I didn’t need shims behind the 4 small cogs, I can’t dember the size of the ones I have behind the tow big cogs (I think I have three in total, bulls them with out oil first and they were nice and tight and smooth, then filled with oil (100k rear & front, 500k center). I used the bearings for RC bearings and replaced all the stock, just wanted to safe as the QC wasn’t great (I have a V1). When I enquired with Uk Bearings he didn’t have the Lasernut listed so made a kit for me, but I believe it’s listed now?.
  8. Cheers, wheelie bar is mounted in one place, so will have a look at that, this is just the Sport Tuned Brushed on 2s, that’s enough I think (famous last words😀)
  9. Stripped the Lunchbox down, fitted some new parts from UkMonsters, new ESC & servo, cleaned up the wiring, had a quick spin in the garden and it’s a mad little thing😀
  10. I have one, and have done all the mods you mentioned and some more, have a look through the thread, let me know if you need any help.
  11. Ah, ok, I kind of thought that, but it doesn’t specifically say if it does or doesn’t in the manual. Thank you
  12. Does anyone know if this ESC can run a Brushed motor?, all the manuals just mention Sensored/Sensorless Brushless, I know it’s the Brushless version, just wondering as I want to use it with a Tamiya Sport tuned brushed motor on 2s Lipo.
  13. Will do, just need to solder it up, also have a new servo on its way that you recommended
  14. Good question, I’m not sure, but I have a spare Hobbywing 10bl60, so will put that in instead. The Tamiya one does power up and run, can’t get it to reverse though,
  15. And a battery for the Lunchbox too, as recommended by @Stormbringer and @Yrkoon👍
  16. A Tamiya Lunchbox, put a bid in on eBay and won it, never had one, and think the kids will enjoy it, there is just something about these, had Grasshoppers and hornets in the 80s but never one of these. Seems to have all the essential upgrades already, fully Ballraced (haven stripped the gearbox, but they are on the rear axle), fifth shock, metal body mounts and look to be oil filled dampers (don’t know if these were standard and also has a Parma Lexan body.
  17. Which model servo is it?, I have a waterproof receiver box, so will make use of that, I’m hoping the kids will want to use this, my lad doesn’t use his MN99 Landrover at all, it’s just too slow for him, might rob the lights out of that for this.
  18. I seem to have won one of these in an eBay auction. it has the Black can sports tuned motor with the TBLE02s esc, I have a Hobbywing 10BL60 knocking about, is this a better ESC?. it looks like it already has the 3rd Shock upgrade and the metal body posts. Will strip it down when I receive it and make sure all is good, Any battery suggestions (Xt60 if I use my 10bl60). Any other tips or tricks with these?
  19. Looks better without in my opinion, much cleaner
  20. If it’s anything like my EMB1, you can put an additional bearing in place of the spacer
  21. The LC Racing range really are nice kits to build👍
  22. Did this a couple of days ago, a long overdue rebuild/service of the diffs on the EMB-1 also fitted the new hardens steel outdrives at the same time. Then it was at the local track for a shake down with its bigger cousin.
  23. Made some improvements (maybe) to my table I use when at the RC track. Cut and fitted some foamex board around the sides and back, covered this in some vinyl wrap to make it a bit more easy in the eye, stuck some self adhesive magnetic sheet (to catch those wayward screws/nuts) to the top.
  24. Are you making a chainmail vest?😀
