  1. Thanks, I just needed a 2nd opinion before i commited.
  2. I think in the real world, wide angle is the way to (scale) but straight on looks abit neater. Or is it just me
  3. Hi all Limb risers arrived in post today, but not sure how to fit. Would like an opinion from the pictures below Straight line from the top bracket or spreading slightly outwards??
  4. Hi buddy, just curious, are you buying new?? If so you can get somthing called asset protection. Any "Total Loss" within 3 years and your covered at the dealership for store credit equal to the value of the car when you paid for it. I got it with my new Civic, like you I was nervous when ppl lurked about but tbf having this, keeps your mind at bay:)
  5. 1 turn would be 360 degree rotation, 1 hour is 1/12 of a turn Also why I'm here, does anyone know where I can find factory needle setting for Kyosho engines?? Specifically the KE21SP in the inferno neo 3.0 RTR I've check around the forum, google and my manual. Nothing 😕
  6. Ok now I'm lost, I've never heard of a BEC. Can the trx drag the brakes as an RTR?? If so how?? When I brake it just locks up I'm using 7.4v 2s lipo right now so I assume the default ESC can take it. Dno if it can be programmed though. So what tools would I need to change the esc and motor. I only have regular tools and Allen keys I got with RTR products 😕 Also I've recently gotten a lead battry for my nitro starter box (basically a car battry) any ideas on what voltages I need to keep it above?? Apologies for my noobness
  7. Hi. Thanks for the info. So does the hobby wing increase torque or speed. Right now if I try and turn at full speed it just rolls lol, I dont think I need more speed yet. Probably wont be going brushless because of this too as I hear brushless are pretty rapid motors. I did see an Asian guy on YouTube talk about chopping the tyre tread to make a "scoop" pattern. Right now though the tyres are fine. However when boris let's us out again I may decide to change if needed, only been in my back yard with some pallets I robbed from work :P. just spent alot buying the trx itself. So far I've had to change the front bumper, it got in the way most of the time. I got a fastrax aluminium bumper and mounted it as close and high as possible. Much better now
  8. Hi all, not completely new, been lurking in the background for a few years, but will be popping up from time to time from now on. From manchester area, Nitro/electric RC

    Its time

Afternoon all. A few years ago I grabbed my 1st hobby grade RC car, since then I've dabbled about in it and it's been fun. Now I'm looking to get abit more into the hobby, last week I picked up a new TRX 4 and it's great. Slowly buying mods I'm looking for some insights into things that you can only really learn from long time hobbyists like yourselves. Anything from who makes good tools, good/bad motor manufacturers to driving techniques, moving from RTR radio transmitters and maintenance. Also Nitro stuff too, I have a 1/8 buggy, never raced, only been bashing, although i would like to go to a proper track at some point if theres any around (Manchester) Anything would be helpful Cheers!!
  10. Hi all. Just got myself a starterbox for nitro engines and a 12v PB battery. Never had one before and I have a few questions What's the lowest Voltage it can be before I need to charge? Do they loose power over time when not in use faster than other batteries?? Also at what amps should I charge it at?? It's a J Perkins 7A 12V-Powercell Gel Battery. It's in a SMD Evo v2 with 2 motors, is this quite hard on the battery?? Cheers in advance
  11. He has this https://www.nitrotek.co.uk/rc-cars/nitro-petrol-cars/1-5-scale/fs-racing-30cc-1-5th-petrol-rc-monster-truck-hummer-2-4ghz.html
  12. Hi all Friend of mine is resurrecting a petrol 1/5 scale truck. The steering servo is dead and needs replacing. Can he use any 1/5 scale servo?? Currently he has a 30kg servo. Looking for a new one today. Can spend around 50 quid Cheers in advance
  13. Wish I'd of checked back yesterday. Ordered from modelsport yesterday. Coulda got free shipping with this added
  14. Ok so not all the same. May aswell grab this one Cheers james
  15. Hi all So I've been checking out some starter boxes. From what I can see, it's just a motor in a box. Are they all the same?? Just look different by brand etc?? Are some motors/box build quality better?? If so which ones. I don't want to buy somthing that will break within a year or so. Not tied to Any budgets but probs not spend over £100 Cheers
  16. Well ****. Turned it on, smoke from the throttle servo...........nothing. fried servo correct?? I can get a warranty claim on this right???
  17. Ok great. I'll give it a go with wheels off ground. Cheers James (again)
  18. Hi all. So the past 2 days I've gone out to get my new engine broken in. Both attempts have ended up with bad weather starting on the way to a decent spot. I've heard a few rumours that breaking an engine in with the wheels off the floor is bad. Hence I opted to drive at low throttle for a few tanks. But apparently rain is expected for the next week here in Manchester. Would breaking an engine in on a block of bricks on the back yard be ok?? Or is it that bad for the engine?? Cheers
  19. Ok I found the problem. Turns out that using 4xAA batteries wasn't enough voltage. Just tried a 6v hump battery and it's working fine now. Thing is why would they call it a RTR if they don't supply you with a 6v capable power supply??
  20. Hi all. So I've recently picked up a Kyosho inferno neo 3.0. I've followed instructions correctly and I have issues. My steering servo works but is jittering every half second in every position it's in. My throttle servo will only open (it dosent spring back to closed. Just stays open). I've checked around Google and here and tried alot. My trimming isnt the issue Things I've tried (Throttle servo) 1. I've tried reversing the TX switch and the brake now throttles but accel dosent brake 2.I've unplugged the servos from the RX and swapped them over. Now the steering only opens the throttle, turning the opposite way dosent close/brake. The throttle trigger operates the steering fine. 3. I can move the throttle horn both directions with my hand. Steering servo 1. The jittering stops when the TX isn't turned on and the RX is on. When it connects the jittering begins immediately. I'm new to this so any help would be great. Thanks in advance
