Far better to run foam air filters if running off road.
If you're unsure it's lean. Get the truck warm give it a good blast and then check the colour of your spark plug. It's always worth trying this with either a new or clean plug.
It's one of the methods I use to check the fueling on my KTM two stroke.

No worries Gaz.

Love the marks on the window from him breathing through his nose
Good picture that.
My front room window is never clean for long. You should see my car!

Plastic front body Post's.

Are the HPI diff gears stronger. Or is it due to parts availability?

It's funny we're on about meeting and we both have an SCX10, Yeti and Bomber you don't have a Baja and 5ive hidden away do you?
I did have a 5 B. Sold that an got an MCD (Sold that to). Day and night difference between those two.

The trade off is handling really.
Since you already have a Bomber and SCX10, I'd leave the Yeti loose, it really helps the handling and countering griproll
I think I'll take your advice on that one. makes sense

@Oh How Original I have just rebuilt my ftx outlaw and put 100k in the front. i also run the rear locker. That has made a huge difference, a lot more resistance in the diff.
so i was thinking try the same in the Yeti. I do run quite a lot on loose ground and it seems to help to.

@tolk83 I agree 100%. It took me ages and was a pain.
But they do look cool.
I did debate not using the internal cage and use rear body posts.

Have you tried taking the Yeti over it? It might just surprise you, with some decent throttle control, they can crawl very well
Some of the stuff I've taken mine over, a few minutes after bashing buddies have said "it'll never go up that"
Like the shell too, I am thinking about buying the Ford Raptor body for mine, just to change it up, plus I have plenty of left over paints.
You cant really see much of the course. But it's like a rock crawl section of the King of hammers. Metal parts of your truck make authentic grinding and scraping noises. It's real easy to get wedged. And the front diff on the Yeti feels very open.
But it will stop it looking like a shelf queen quite quick, and that's good.
I like the Raptor bodies, might have to pick one up.

@Oh How Original Good observation skill there
Yeah I traded with James. I should of sold the losi 8, but was tempted by the bling parts.
Not sure what I'm doing with that axle.
But if you're genuinely interested, I will let you know if it's up for sale.
-
@Oh How Original Has the Currie axle fitted. I traded my losi 8 for the Yeti.
And it came with loads of ally parts. Some I like some I don't. I didn't buy the Currie axle myself and I'm still not keen on scratching it.
Like AJ said, I'd sooner scratch a £30 SSD plastic axle.
-
@.AJ. Bonus! That's what I ordered.

@Oh How Original Thanks for that
I have ordered a few parts to try and slim ("Frumpy" as I have named her).
RPM arms instead off aluminium. An SSD centred rear axle instead of the VP Currie axle. Plus it will like look crap when covered in scrapes, scratches and dints.
And when in stock VP titanium rear uppers links instead of stainless.
Hopefully that will drop the weight a bit.
I also try and keep my trucks as light as possible. But obviously durability must be thought of to.

Vanquish Front bulkhead and Rear Trailing arms for the Yeti ?
Any chance of some pictures on your build thread? I do like the look of the VP bulkhead.

I've ordered the sct esc on its own.
Thanks for your help.
It's a good ESC. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

If I'm gonna be honest. I have a kit version that's fairly stock, that's OK on terrain I use on 2s.
It's my other Yeti that's heavy and doesn't seem to go.
-
Thanks for your replies
I'll put a big 3s brick in frumpy and see how she does.

This is probably the cheapest option for an Ezrun ESC from the UK.
-
I would try an Ezrun ESC.
I have used a few of them with good results.
The later combos are nice. Really low cogging.
I do prefer the SCT version of the ESC. Can take up to 4s. Depends on your budget.

Has anyone weighed there Yeti?
I was curious because it felt heavy and was slow with a xerun 3656 4000kv motor, on 2s. Would no doubt be better with same motor but 3400kv on 3s.
It turns out my Yeti needs to go on a diet as it weighs 4.1 KG. And that's with no battery ?

Light brown is fine. You want to be worried when the plug is white with chunks missing.
