  1. Tekno et48.3 for sale. Comes with a max 8 esc/motor combo, srt steerng servo (both waterproof), some spare nuts, shock standoff, diff/shock oils etc. Selling as artr minus the radio gear (can do a deal with the radio gear for sale below.) It also comes with 2 6s 5000mah batteries however one balance cable has broke (easy repair) Everything is less than a month old and has only been used twice. Some slight scuffs on the rear shock tower, front skid plate and underside of the chassis. The best RC I’ve ever owned I just don’t have the time for the hobby anymore. For the truggy artr (no transmitter or receiver) £525 i also have for sale a spektrum dx5r. Comes with the telemetry receiver and a normal receiver. It’s less than a month old also and comes boxed with manuals etc. £190
  2. i run those in my tekno, they pack a serious punch
  3. Dammm I would of saved some money if this came up earlier. That’s a good price, I spent double that and I’ve a cheaer esc/motor combo
  4. yeah the motor is quite a heavy bit of kit so it definatly will move and shock to motor abit. I did go light on the locktight as i didnt want to be unable to remove bolts etc. Now i know ill use more. The way the pinion moved down the shaft, the motor slid out of mesh and the motor mount tweaked to a bad angle with the spur due to the screws underneath coming loose im not sure a steel spur would of looked to clever after it eithur lol
  5. I have got a spare plastic one but i think i will upgrade to the steel one. Although 29 quid plus postage is a little steep in my opinion
  6. I took this to the local BMX track today and gave it some proper abuse for a hour or so. Several 15ft+ landings at some really nasty angles and it just drove away unscathed. After 20 minutes or so i mastered the air control and got a couple of good backflips out of it, its really responsive to brake/throttle inputs in the air and flys really well. The MT410 would probably be more suited to this kind of bashing as the truggy sometimes slaps the floor on landing. I may look into heavier oil but think the stock oil is a good allrounder. I eventually broke it by stripping the spur gear due to the motor slider screws, pinion screw and the motor mount plate screws working loose. I'll be checking all the screws and using more threadlock when i replace the spur. The only other damage was to my batteries, ive been trying to decide on the best way round to fit them, sadly the way i tried today mean that on a landing my balance wires slid into my center cv splitting one of the wires. This is a known problem on the tekno and ill be making something to keep the batteries as far forward as possible. The second pack i used was fine but got really battered in the tray, the straps were as tight and i could get them but it still slid around a little causing some damage to the casing. I will be looking for some hardcase pack in the near future Overall im really impressed with the beating this took, next time ill take my gopro and get some videos.
  7. Ive put 2/3 packs through this now, mainly on a school field and playground getting my eye back in, and getting used to controlling a powerful rc again. After the first pack i changed the 10k centre diff fluid to 100k, with the 10k in there in may as well of been front wheel drive. The 100k is much better but it wheelies alot and still ballons the front tyres. On the grass i could go 200 yards at 3/4 throttle then hit full throttle and it would still wheelie and cart wheel along at silly speed if i didnt bring the front down in time. Amazingly it survived several of these only deforming the rear wing mount slightly lol. I was having lots of fun trying to run a course on the tarmac to get used to driving again. The truck is so responsive and handles great, turning in and braking at the same time really rotates the car and allows you to slide into corners nicely. Whereas braking then turning in keeps the car planted and stable when required. It makes you feel really in control. Anyway i was having loads of fun and as with all good things, it had to end. Drove into a tree stump at 20mph ish and it snapped the shock standoff. Sadly i also lost the shock cap bushing at the nut so had to order a pair of standoff and the bushings/nuts (25quid later and it will be up and running by tuesday.) I was actually suprised the last hit broke it after the "indestructible" hype these get and after it survived the cartwheels but hey ho. We will see how it handles the bmx track once its fixed.
  8. I belive it works but it’s not something I want to do. I buy these wheels and tyres premounted and imagine I’ll go through quite a few so can’t really be bothered taping every set and I hate glueing tyres. The ballooning can be tuned out quite a lot I’d imagine. The 10k center diff fluid is too loose and is sending way to much power to the fronts
  9. Yeah as soon as I built the kit I saw it was trash and ordered the ally one. Can’t belive a 500quid kit comes with a plastic one tbh. I would like ally knuckles now
  10. Got home from work, grabbed the truggy and went for a quick blast just on a gravel carpark. 2 minutes in one very light roll into a pole with the front left stripped the stock servo horn out lol. Typical when I got home my ally one had turned up lol. I got it fitted along with the rear guards and I’ll try again tomorrow lol. One thing I really need to sort is the front tyres ballooning. I need to get more power to the rear wheels, I planned on 20k center diff fluid but I think it will need more than this. Probably 20k front, 40k center and leave the stock rear 5k stuff in. I really don’t want to make this thing a wheelie machine though.
  11. Only just seen your previous post mate sorry. I’m using a 16t pinion too. Id imagine your heavy wheels/tyres won’t be helping your temps. A 1/8th setup shouldn’t really struggle or get majorly hot in a truggy like this. what motor/esc do you run?
  12. Soldered a xt90 to the esc wires and relocated the on/off switch. I’m happy with how tidy the chassis is now. I also painted the shell quickly, I hate doing this (probably because I’m crap at it) so I just went with a quick yellow/purple/blue fade although I messed up by painting the yello first, but will do for what I’ll use it for. If I race this I’d like to get a LFT body for it and get it professionally painted. I then setup the cars rideheight, toe and camber then got a quick test run in on the street, it’s really nice and smooth to drive. I have ordered some 20k center diff oil to replace the 10k that’s current in it to try and lower the amount the front tyres ballon. I also ordered a ally servo horn and rear cvd guard things.
  13. Got the electrics in this and wired it all it all up to my spektrum rx. It’s very snug, the ESC litterally just fits in between the chassi brake and chassis protector. I have ordered a XT90 to get rid of the two deans that are on there now it currently. I setup the esc and dx5r then had a little test run on the street. All seems good, I’ll paint the body and tidy up a few odds and ends then I’ll get it on a field this weekend for a decent run. ill get better pics tomoz.
  14. No mate didnt need too. kit said reem them out till the pins move freely, they didnt need it. Same with the diffs, kit said two shims on the gear side but i (and others) found them to be fine without any shims
  15. The Tekno ET48 roller i just bought for circa £500 still offers upgrades despite being know as bomb proof. Do they need alloy knuckles? Probably not, will i get a set? Probably.
