  1. Pretty much did the same paint wise... Changed the servo and that's all for the mauler.... Later picked up a second hand scx10 and fitted the ESC 1080 to that...but it was the Mauler that wetted my appetite.
  2. Hi, As far as I remember I didn't need an extension for the servo....it just connected fine....and can't check now but i believe the battery was Deans as well.
  3. Hi, I think you'll find this a great step into the world of Crawling...I'm new to this myself and enjoyed messing with the car & the Maulers 2.2 wheels make quite the difference I noticed compared to the Axial Scx10 I later bought. I like the Crawlers because you can set a course up in the garden and trail whenever you fancy...something faster tends to mean a trip with more space somewhere else. Enjoy.
  4. Thanks for that...I was hopeful it would be straight forward
  5. I picked up a battered Axial body off ebay to experiment on changing the look. At the moment I`m trying to find longer body posts to move forward. As a separate question to those who have changed the ESC and receiver, has it been a straight forward swap..mainly regarding the connections for the lights etc. Did you just unplug from the existing and plug into the new...?
  6. Be interested to hear what you think and what kind of actual difference you notice
  7. Yeah, I took John's advice and swapped my servo but filed those nibs down as well to give that extra
  8. Sorry, I can't answer your questions but as you've got a good selection of Axial rigs I figure you'll get a good idea once it arrives. I'm wondering if its possible to convert the Mauler to a Wraith ... the Wraiths wheels seem to stand a little more forward.
  9. Everything I've done so far is from suggestions here. Other than a can of plastic primer and jet black spray paint from Halfords the only thing I've bought is the servo...just keeping a look out for a random 2.2 wheel on ebay for the back now.
  10. Absolutely....and first thing I did was remove that front hinge
  11. Glowing review in this months RC Racer mag...so far I`ve changed the servo as previously mentioned but otherwise stock I did use tennis racket tape around the Transmitter which has added a massive improvement to the comfort/feel of the grip.
  12. Thanks....I`m expecting it to scratch a bit when it rolls...but for now its fine. I`m thinking of fabricating something out of Aluminium eventually .
  13. Has anyone tried to fit a spare wheel on the back....something I`d like to do at some point
