      If you're talking ring and pinion gears for rc diffs I'd say you want something loose like silicon based stuff. If it's reasonably thick and sticky it'll cause friction and run like it's binding. That's my opinion anyway.

      Same principle with spider gears I guess., Thin grease the diff action is free, thick and sticky it slows the action down (binds it).
