  1. Sorry, I missed this, and this is pretty much what I am doing now, so all is well Ah, right, I was just slackening it off. The reason I do that is I'm worried that any muck and dust inside the heat sink might go back into the cylinder. Wow! I wouldn't have expected that... I think if I knew I was not going to run an engine for so long I'd probably strip it down.

  3. An hour and twenty minutes away, all A roads (A49). North West Nitro have a meet on the 10th April so I'm going to take a drive up there (seeing as they can't be bothered answering my e-mail).
  4. I've only just got round to watching the video as I was at work earlier. A great collection, without a doubt. Does each one of those get a run out or are some "retired?" I've only got two (working) and I've not started my 1/10th Lancia Delta since getting my 1/8th buggy. I really must remedy that... And I'd like to use the sound of that engine in one of my music projects... That's got one crazy beat going on LOL
  5. I've got to travel an hour to get to a club that accepts nitro. I emailed said club a couple of weeks ago and I've heard nothing back Makes you want to start your own, although, without some serious backing it is somewhat of an uphill battle, and that's before you find any suitable land...

  7. Talking of oil weight, I know this might sound a bit mad, considering I've read a few here saying they go for 40~45 wt... I filled my new Big Bores with 20 and to be honest, for the sort of stuff that I do, all is well
  8. Yeah, this is very important... Especially when it comes to driving on grass. I'd recommend starting at 1/8th scale for proper grass duties, but then wouldn't recommend them for young children really, just because then can be a bit of a handful when you lose control and, because they are bigger and heavier, can cause more damage to what ever (or who ever) they hit. Having said that, had I had the money at the time, I'd have had no qualms at all about letting my lads, at around 6~7, have a 1/8th buggy... I've driven my 1/10th scale rally car on grass, but it has to be really short to be able to cope with it. My 1/8th buggy seems to manage quite well in grass up to four inches high, at least, and only gets stuck on some of the larger tufts, or launches into the air off them I hope you find something suitable Andy
  9. That's what I thought, until I saw some recent videos of electric 1/8th scale buggies that would leave my nitro for dead haha! So, that just leaves the noise, and I can't handle fast speeds anyway
  10. Hi Bill, Have you tried resizing them in Paint or something similar? I've got my own web space so it's easy for me and the site limit here doesn't apply. I think some peeps use image hosting sites like photobucket and then upload the link here.
  11. LOL! You truly know the meaning of "Bash" I've been thinking about your shocks damage (the bending of the shafts) and I'm puzzled as to how that happened. In each case the shocks would have been pretty much fully extended on impact but then not have had a chance to compress. So must have been a pretty sharp angle, if you know what I mean, and thereby somehow causing the shaft to jam in place and bending instead if moving back into the main cylinder. What is amazing me with these buggies is how durable they seem at time, especially the suspension arms, which seem to survive while all the metal bits are bending or even snapping

  13. That sounds like a plan... Where abouts do you bash? We've been going to Wigg Island lately, just because you park on the car park there and the field is right in front of you. We're all a bit knackered... Me with my knees, the missus can't walk far and our dog is 15! We need a change though...

  16. Hi peeps, I never used to use ARO when I ran my 1/10th scale Kyosho twenty years ago, and, to be honest, I don't think it ever caused me a problem. But, here we are in the 21st century, and the general advice is to use it, so I do. Trouble is, I guess I use a bit too much, much like garlic when I'm cooking What does everyone do here when you come to run your car again after a liberal dosing of ARO? I reckon that some of my starting woes have been cause by having too much ARO in my engine and then not flushing it out properly. Yesterday I put quite a large amount of fuel in through my carb and then loosened my glow plug before turning the engine over quite a few times with my pull start. That seemed to work a treat and I got going a lot quicker than I have been. But, what do you do?
