  1. Definitely avoid K&N filters. If youve got the standard small black plastic square filter then I would suggest the one for the HPI Baja instead. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=...mp;ItemID=25157
  2. Best kill switch IMO is the AMS. That one will kill the engine if the battery disconnects. Not the cheapest but why skimp on saving a car that costs 100's or even 1000's of pounds.
  3. They dont need to look nice. They just need to run for a lot longer than nitros
  4. Check the engine cut button isnt stuck in.
  5. You can try putting them in an oven at low temp to soften the glue.
  6. The Ace is a strange bugger. Had the same problem but fixed it by changing for another make of failsafe. Cant remember what it is but it may have been an Mtroniks.
  7. Just use a standard allen key. Use pliers to turn it if you have to.
  8. The choke does work. Watch the video in the stickys for starting the HPI Baja. Its the same for your FG.
  9. I run mine without. The tyre has a reinforced sidewall to allow this but if you feel the need for inserts, go for it.
  10. Two on a Y lead is no prob mate.
  11. Probably overkill for throttle/brake but if you want to why not.
  12. athe ace servo and the T Tiger are both made by the same company. Just badged differently. There is a higher torque T Tiger with 14.5 kg Out of stock but you may find it elsewhere http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=...mp;ItemID=24658
  13. Good servo but a bit more expensive. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=...mp;ItemID=24744 Dont know if the spektrum is available without servos but you can always keep as a backup. The T Tiger is a digital servo if the spektrum uses HRS this gives a slightly faster response. Non digital servos on an HRS radio will cook the servo.
  14. Good news mate. Make sure you use theadlock when you fit the rotostart.
  15. He could do this but using it as is will just cause more wear and possibly damage the piston. For the price of a new ring is it worth the risk?
  16. The rotostart on my savage x worked loose first day out. It was caused by them not using thread lock on the screws. Looks like yours has done the same but when its been part way out it has put too much stress on the backplate. Not a lot of metal at that corner. Try phoning them and see if they will replace the parts. You dont know til you try.
  17. Yes they are 1/6th but the servos are sold as 1/5th or 1/4 scale.
  18. A good servo for 1/5th brake is this one but its a bit expensive http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=...mp;ItemID=24658 Been using it alongside a Multiplex Rhino for steering. All in all very happy apart from the cost.
  19. I use Wet Protect spray. Got it from http://www.rc-car-online.de/htstarteng.htm
  20. If moneys not a problem then the Thunder Tiger servos are good . A bit pricey though.
  21. The choke should only be needed for the first start. It should be run with the choke open. Thats with the choke lever pointing to the rear of the car. It sounds like you are saying you are doing it the opposite way round. There is a link to a video on how to start a petrol engine in the stickys for this forum. Well worth watching. Thats the link to starting the HPI Baja but its the same for the FG and your Carson.
  22. No mate standard setup. My balldrives are made byLauterbacher. The gaters were actually for a car electric system but I cant remember which make.
  23. Ive got balldrives. Never had a problem>
  24. The only time Ive changed mine was during run in cos it was running rich & the plug coked up.
