  1. Ok thanks. Maybe i'll just check the levels of oil then as mine seem very soft. No idea what the stock oil even is though. I'll have a look
  2. What weight oil do people generally run in the shocks on the VSE?? Mine feel very soft and slow. Thanks
  3. I never did solve the issue with my boys Carnage. I changed the motor twice and changed the ESC to a Hobbywing one and still had the same issue so I have just converted it to brushless and it's running sweet now. So much faster too. Probably not what you want to hear with a new toy but maybe you'll have more luck tracking down the issue than I did.
  4. Does anyone know the difference between the standard grey springs and the orange ones that are for sale on Modelsport?? Are the orange ones stiffer??? Thanks
  5. I know it has probably already been discussed on here somewhere but I can't be bothered to look throgh 239 pages!!! I want to upgrade my boys Carnage from brushed to brushless. Do I choose the standard 2950kv motor or the 3450kv motor? What is the difference between the two of them? They are the same price with the 45amp ESC. Also, do I need to upgrade or change anything else at the same time? Pinion or spur gear?? It will be running on 2s Lipo if that makes any difference. Thanks
  6. Thanks. I have checked most things but haven't changed no bearings and I haven't checked the front diff so I will do them next.
  7. No, still having the same issues. New ESC and motor but it is still getting hot and going into limp mode. Damn thing is driving me mad
  8. Yeah i have a feeling that the lipo is what is causing the heat issues. It does say 2s compatible but its a lot quicker on 2s than it was with the NiMh pack that came with it. Maybe a change of pinion gear might be an idea. Try to slow it down a bit and maybe keep the temp down a bit. Not sure what pinion to try though or what it comes standard with.
  9. They are good fun when they run ok. Are you planning on using lipos with yours or sticking with NiMh packs? The quality is a bit hit and miss and compared to my hyper you can definitely see the difference in quality but you get what you pay for i suppose.
  10. Hey, there is a lot of people who love them so hopefully you will have more luck than me. I'm determined to get to the bottom of it. I will get this damn thing running 🤣
  11. The lipos are 5200mah 30c. If I leave the car for a few minutes to cool down it runs as normal again, and the charger is showing very little drain from them so definitely not because they are low.
  12. The motors have all been installed with a very small gap between the gears. I've fitted quite a few motors over the years and have never had an issue so I guess I'm doing them ok. The first motor stopped working because he drove it through a boggy puddle so I bought a new one. After installing the new one it kept getting very hot and after a few runs it burnt out. Burnt smell coming from it and speed was hugely restricted. With the 3rd motor I also changed the ESC to a hobbywing one as I thought maybe that has gone bad too, but the issue is still there. It will run fine for a few minutes and then it starts to limp along and the motor is extremely hot. I have no way of checking the voltage on the batteries but I have 3 new 2s lipos and it does the same with all of them. The ESC jumper is set on the lipo setting. I'm getting to the point where I don't know what else to try.
  13. This motor is literally brand new. Along with the ESC. It gets hot running it on flat tarmac. If you use it in the grass it gets hot in no time at all. Like I said this is the third motor I've put into this thing and they have all got hot so something else is definitely causing it. I've got it stripped apart right now and I can't see anything wrong. Everything is moving freely and nothing is binding at all. Its probably only had about an hour of runtime since he bought it as it keeps burning through motors. How does the slipper clutch work and could that cause it if its not adjusted correctly? I know nothing about these slipper clutches to be honest. Thanks for trying to help.
