  1. I decided against bright colours,I didnt want to make it look to "race" style.
  2. Boggy

    American Sniper

Its a good film but the scenes tend to jump about a bit. one minute hes on tour next he is home then back on tour.(action is not overly graphic).Defiantly worth a watch though.
  3. yes I think I will remake the mounting brackets out of aluminium sheet john.
  4. just the battery hatch to cut out the take it all to bits again! think its going to be either bright yellow or french blue. not sure if the mud wings will stand many roll overs? maybe a bit more bracing once its off.
  5. Not sure yet John. One of my favorite videos is the icelandic cliff climbers. I may just watch that for some insperation. the idea of the covered rear was it will be far simlper to hide electronics.
  6. the kit price is 75$ yesterday the thread was showing esc 10$ servo 10$ motor 5$ these prices seem to have disappeared though and the kicker 27$ postage
  7. I've made a start on converting the slickrock to something! Just making it up as I go
  8. I'm on the new Brussel sprout Diet. Its going well! haven't had any since Christmas day
  9. I have utilized a few helicopter bits to improve the rear shock travel.
  10. thats how it came Reggie. it looks like some sort of silicon gel. thats a big differance John mine as is would be over on it back by then.
  11. So some lead is on my shopping list for the wheels. , I'll have to wait till later,Sunday service is still on at the local church I have added 45g to the surface of the servo using alloy wheel weights . Quick question __does it all need to be "unsprung" weight or can i add some to the underside of the bonnet?.
  12. Ahh! thanks for that John I thought it had to be in the wheels. I have plenty of wheel balancing weights that i use for aircraft I'll get busy then
  13. first mod (sort of) the slickrock tyres are glued so rather than pull them apart I swapped wheels with the Landfreeder. Makes both look better I think. And the Landfreeder isn't going to be a balls out crawler anyway! would 50g of garden wire wrapped around each front wheel center work for weight on the slickrock?
  14. Ah that's generally called an igniter ! I use one of those on all my nitro stuff cars/planes and helicopters. They are ideal. From your first post it seemed you were wanting to conect a Lipo directly to a glow plug.
  15. not without some sort of resistor. glow plugs operate at 1.2--1.5v and very much over they will pop!
  16. Well its definitely top heavy, any thing over about 45 degree's and it rolls over on its back like a tortoise! The wires going to the esc are a tangled mess. The shocks seem way too soft and dont fully rebound which leaves the body tilted over at an angle once you get back on level ground. A few jobs to look at first I think.
  17. After a little hicup and ending up in hospital I'm back on track (sorry that was bad, forgive the pun) this arrived new years eve
  18. Parkzone do a foamy Spitfire that is a good flyer. However if your also a newbie to flying you may find a spitty a bit of a challenge as the elliptical wings make them susceptibility to "tip stall" so landing can become a little fraut http://www.inwoodmodels.com/index.php?id_product=3740&controller=product
  19. I have decided to pull the trigger on a Slickrock, but as a twist I'm going to add a few 1/10 accessories and extras to make it look like a small buggy/rail type crawler.
  20. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181449293698 I used them for tyres good quick service. Thanks for all the opinions guys good and bad they all help
  21. Thank you for the link John my search brought up no results. I'll have a read.
  22. I can't deny the maverick is great value and even including a rail chassis conversion kit still comes in at only a tenner more. but it was the slickrocks size that drew me to it. I thought it would be handy for a quick mess around after work once the evenings start drawing out.(i work away from home as a truck driver and usually have a little helicopter/plane with me but they are not always practical))
  23. After seeing one mentioned in a thread today and watching a few video's I like the look of these. Does anybody here have one or had experience with one?
