  1. yeah, there are a few places that are just out of feasible distance for me, its like living in a dead zone. not as much fun breaking parts on your own over and over.
  2. I had my trophy 3 days when it decided to chew up the steering servo, gears are made of chocolate. I have been thinking lately of getting the Truggy Flux, how is it for a RC leccy noobie?
  3. its a HPI Trophy, everything is going to break. lol, I hope you are not attached to your bank balance level. Hump pack will not decrease runaway risks, I know that out of experience, it happens regardless. simple failsafe or extra fuel cut off will do the job. some after run oil wouldn't hurt.
  4. My biggest problem is I do not drive any more so distance is really limited for me, I would never be able to get to Netherton, getting boring running on fields and I cant find anywhere else within 1-2 miles and I do not know many people in this area, well in fact I don't know anyone at all here as I have lived in Spain for the last decade, so I cant even get a lift to any bashing spots. I would love to join some bashers but it isn't looking likely, I have a racing trophy but no one to race...oh the irony.
  5. The Mrs always said I never had any sense, no point breaking the habit now. I cant find any drivers with that description, do you have a link to them? 2 years ago I was a solid fit person, now I am reduced to needing a walking stick and mobility scooter after being smacked down with a nerve disorder out of the blue, I don't have the dosh to waste, I just don't give a tiny rats ass about money even though I don't have a lot of it, Life is far too short and you don't know when you are going to get a bite in the ass, so now and then I like to spoil myself even if the mrs is going to flip out for paying that much for some "Stupid screwdrivers". EDIT : NVM, going to have to put this on hold as my steering servo just fried itself, cheaper option may be the choice for now.
  6. I think we have a winner. Yes I am purely picking out of looks, don't judge me, They make me moist. I might get an extra set just for display lol http://www.modelsport.co.uk/arrowmax-allen-wrench-set-1.5-2.0-2.5-and-3.0x120mm-4pcs/rc-car-products/375394 might have to get them anodized with an orange coat to match the trophy colours.
  7. I have to say, I am steering towards arrowmax, they have some really nice kits available, not bad on the eyeballs either. Are all the kits the same in the RC car range? as in same hex sizes etc. That is the part that is confusing.
  8. Would anyone know the best Hex tool kit I would need for the HPI Trophy? I have looked at a lot of kits but have no clue which one I need to get, cost is irrelevant. Thanks in advance for any response
  9. Thanks guys, I had a feeling it was risky, that's why I sought some solid advice from experience here. I had a feeling there would be a lot more involved. The Mrs will just have to put up with the spending.
  10. Thought this would be the best place to ask. I am pretty clued up in the ways of business but when it comes to RC sales then I think I may be a little out of my comfort zone. This is my Q to the experts who can value an RC car. I have the chance to get 5 brand new RTR HPI Trophy V2 2.4ghz for a total of

  12. Thanks and the Mrs said "oh ffs" with a dirty look... lol
  13. I wonder how many levels that would be wrong on? nail hygiene would slide a bit.
  14. Made the front bumper spring loaded for better impact inertia damping.
  15. Next poll - are you a a neat folder or just grab a bunch and wipe? Fold all the way and the folds have to be symmetrical in length.......yes i know, far too much time on my hands. Under should be illegal, nothing worse than trying to get some paper and it is stuck to the wall after someone had a shower and the steam on the tiles soaked up into it like a wick and turned the whole roll into a fat wet lump.
  16. you can get PCI wifi cards as well. clicky click, 12 quid on ebay
  17. I cant stop because I enjoy doing it so much, Mrs wants to take a hammer to it because of how much attention I give the car.
  18. .....Have the same issue I do where I cant stop changing my cars appearance?, even going as far as changing parts that do not need changing. Is this a noobie thing I will grow out of? lol when I bought it a few months ago.... http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/30101-trophyoriginal/ few weeks ago.. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/29788-trophypic1/ Now... http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/30100-trophy/ #Icantstopchangingit
  19. Cooling trays are useless as they block the airflow direction, fans are designed to blow the air out, trays keep it in and add more air. I am still shocked they are allowed to sell them with trading standards. If the fan is staying full throttle then you have one of two issues, either the heatsink/fan is covered in dust and is blocked or the thermal paste on the processor has dried out, More than likely the first though. This is an easy fix, take it to your local petrol station, go to the air pumps, put the nozzle right against any vents you see on the lappy and blast it with air, if a massive plume of dust blast out like an exploding bomb then you have cleared the blockage. If the lappy has small backplates then take them all off as well to be able to blast the air into any tiny hole you can find. to do all this will take about 3-4 mins. as for the lappy overheating and getting fried, that wont happen, all motherboards on any computer have a built in fail-safe for overheating, if it gets to a critical temp the lappy will auto shut off and will refuse to turn on until it has cooled, this wont kill the laptop but it can do software damage if the lappy turns off mid program, that is rare but it can happen. RE : Wifi for desktop, yes you can get a USB dongle but I would not recommend one due to their length, the way to go in a desktop would be to use a "wifi PCIe card" (ask in any shop that sells PC accessories, cheap as chips at about 10-15 quid max, don't pay more than that.) . Fitting the card is a piece of cake, take the side panel off the tower and you will see several long slots which are white, slide the card into any of those slots, unimportant which one although the top one is preferred due to the aerial that will be protruding out of the back. If you need any further advice then I will be glad to help, this is the first problem on the forum I have the experience to be able to help as I am a computer repair engineer that works from removing viruses to complete custom gaming machines. if you have any RC problems then don't come to me..lol
  20. I am still looking but nowhere decent found yet. I have only seen one other person with a nitro RC in 6 months in this area.
  21. The shock towers look like they are right out of Valhalla!! Nice design touch.
  22. Can you provide them with a design on them? like a tribal design etc.
  23. Everywhere the Mrs hates it seems, Kitchen table normally.
