  1. Hi Rickers, Welcome.... I think I'm one of the folk you're refering to, sorry if I came across that way. I'm a bit of an old f@rt in R/C and computing and still don't have the hang of how things read on the monitor instead of how you'd say them out loud. If I said it instead of typing it, it wouldn't have sounded so "off" and you wouldn't be thinking you'd hacked me off. Anyway, c'mon in and enjoy. You got your idle screw set right yet?
  2. No problem Rickers, You ended up with 2 threads telling you the same thing. It's confusing for us and if people are offering you advice it;s confusing for you to keep up to speed on it. If you started a 3rd it would still give you the same answer, and a 4th. Give it a try, see if Josh's tutorial solves your problem then come back here and tell us how you got on. Depending on if you still have a problem with a sticking servo, the guys can help you with that too but first we'll get it sorted so the engine doesn't cut out when you apply the brakes....and the only way to do that is....you guessed it..... Josh's tutorial.
  3. The mode of travel is irrelevant. the key phrase is exactly as I quoted earlier: [You are entitled to these allowances only if you travel with the goods and do not sell them No good filling your car up, you'll pay a fortune in duty & VAT. This thread is discussing duy free import from outside the EU so you can still only bring in 1L spirits, 200 ciggies, 2L table wine etc whether you're in your car or not.
  4. mmmmm sugarcane as well. That's you well set up nutrition-wise then LOL
  5. Not so tight that it rips the paper; you should be able to turn the wheels after setting up and get the paper out. Where the gears have been you'll see a pattern of the teeth on the paper but it shouldn't have chewed through.
  6. Umm the title of this thread is "show us your marder, baja, petrol" he showed us his petrol. :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed:
  7. The motor won't run quicker with a cap, it just stores extra power for a short burst of acceleration.
  8. Yep. The idle screw's ONLY job is to cure the fault you have. EXACTLY the same as the last time you asked here: http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/index.php?show...c=22152&hl= and in the other forums too. Instead of saying "Thanks for your help guys, but i don't think that is the problem" and asking again, and getting the same answers again why don't you just try it? It's literally a 1 minute job.
  9. If you log into your papal account you will be able to see exactly why they took the money. If something has gone through your account (rightly or wrogly) and the funds aren't there to pay for it then they'll go straight to whichever payment method you specified when you opened the account and take the funds froim there. If the transaction's not your then get it stopped. Paypal wil refund you straight away. But remember, Paypal are like any other banking institution, they make mistakes too. They usually put them right straight away. In fact they're obliged to in law. The poor sod who opened your "nasty email" had nothing to do with the money coming from your account so don't be surprised if, by giving him or her a hard time, you make things more difficult for yourself. I'd do exactly the same. The time to get nasty and take revenge (financial services ombudsman etc) is AFTER you contact them nicely and ask for clarification and a refund..
  10. It's always legal. There's no law against bringing anything into this country unless it's a specifically banned item or substance, or one that you need to be licensed to import or use here. The question really is "will I have to pay duty & VAT?" If you post it from outside the EU it won't be duty free as the duty free allowance only applies to travellers (in the article you posted it says " You are entitled to these allowances only if you travel with the goods and do not sell them.", but there's nothing stopping you bringing it back with you. Enjoy....
  11. Curried lamb shank with mashed spuds & veggies.
  12. Yep. Shaft into the freezer and some heat onto the bearing. If it's a solid bearing (like a brass bush or plain bearing) you can heat it gently with a naked flame, blowtorch etc. If it's a ball bearing or roller bearing you shouldn't flame heat it but maybe try putting it into a hot oven for 10 mins or so.
  13. Ziggy, just take the old fan out and go to somewhere like maplins. You'll be able to buy an identical fan for a few quid. http://www.maplin.co.uk/search.aspx?menuno...-2&doy=23m2

    MY RANT

I was with then for 4 years, I bought 4 contract phones off them through my company. They made some mistakes, all companies will sooner or later but it's how they deal wit them that matters. I found their customer service team to be excellent. FWIW, I'd still be with them but I couldn't get a full-sized PDA phone from them at the time. I shopped around and eventually got a killer deal from O2. Sure, just like all big companies we've had our ups and downs but again excellent customer service. The bonuses & discounts we've been given for being inconvenienced now means that we have 1500 minutes per month and 20% off all of our bills for life!!!! In short, £5 per handset per week for more "any time & any network" minutes than we can use. Ortange are still a great company but remember, somebody goofed. The person you talk to tonight will have no idea who that was and has probably never met them, and they'll spend their whole shift sorting out other people's cr@p. Be nice to them, don't go off on an all-out assault on the phone. Write a note to yourself of the things you put in your original post in an easy to read format and tell the rep about them one thing at a time so they can take all that info in. You're more likely to have a fabulous result with freebies for the inconvenience if you treat them nicely. Good luck!
  15. Excellent post, Taras. Welcome to the forum and thanks for the clarification.
  16. I voted "other" because I don't buy any. None of them have enough largescale coverage for my linking.
  17. Josh has a point. I don't know wnat the markup on model parts is but I expect it's high. A mate of mine runs a car parts shop with quite a bit of local competition (2 other high street shops and a Halfords in the retail park), his markup on most parts is 175% and on cheaper items in the under £5 range it's 250% and more! I'm certain that there are no "fake" OS branded glowplugs on the market because it simply isn't worthwhile for the counterfeiters to do it. Making glowplugs requires specialist equipment with hign startup costs. Forgers don't usually go in for that kind of investment to make £5 items to sell to a limited marketplace. They go in for cheap to make items that retail for crazy money and have massive widespread appeal among millions of buyers..
  18. I'm gonna stick woith plan "A". Change my Explorer for a Dodge Ram this year and go for a good roadgoing quadbike for the summer. I'm not into consoles.... I'd rather spend what little spare time I've got doing outdoorsy stuff.
  19. Ziggy, I thought you were one of the few in the pancake day thread that said you didn't like pancakes... or am I geting you mixed up with somebody else? Anyway.... pancakes & yorkshire puds..... same stuff.... so how come you like yorkshire pudding but not pancake??????
  20. If you're unfortunate enough to get water INTO the engine it'll kill it stone dead in a heatbeat. Think piston......hole....... broken LOL Not likely but possible so take good care.
  21. Good thinking. Maybe mix normal & anti lock as Ziggy says. Hadn't thought of that.
  22. I've got a pot of home made chilli beef on the go. No idea what it'll taste like as I chucked all kinds in there with the mince: american bbq sauce to sweeten it up a little and even some strong coffee, then the beans, finely grated onions and the chilli powder. Couldn't find any jalapenos though I think the rice'll end up in there as well to save the washing up. You can tell I'm on me own tonight. In fact, if I make enough for 2 I can leave hers in the pot and I'll have even LESS washing up to do OK, so now how can I make this meal stretch to feed her too..... Thinking.....
  23. They get the hydrogen by splitting the water into hydrogan and oxygen by reverse osmosis. So yes, when hydrogen fuel cells eventually become popular you'll be filling up with water instead of nitro fuel.
  24. Koroshko's right. Water is the killer of electronics so search here for the waterproofing threads, do servos and receiver and make sure it's all watertight. If your air filter gets soaked that could be about the only other thing that spoils your day, depends on holes in bodyshell or chassis plate etc; if and where the water can get inside your shell. Then enjoy.....
  25. Depends on the type of track. the antilocks work by reducing the surface area of brake disc, so in other words they're designed to be "worse" to stop your brakes locking up on low grip tracks. If you race on low grip surfaces buy the antilock, on high grip surfaces (IOW you don't have much trouble right now with ordinary brakes locking or the car skidding under braking) then buy the normal ones. Or buy 1 of each and try it, see which you prefer.
