    Yep the esc was fine and the new motor is so much better.. besides fixing the squeal it also stutters less at the start and looks more serviceable. Thanks all for you help

    I guess its borked... where can I get a motor like that..all HK have is Sensored ..none to replace.. My local RC shop has these http://radientrc.com/Reaktor/ or should I just go for the same combo again hoping this was a one off?

    The bearings are moving ok but I did notice the wire on the left is not as well connected as the other 2?

    It's always had that stutter it's when it's not moving and the high pitch squeal that's new

    It's defo the motor I took it out it seems to do it at a certain point in its rotation but only from a static position. ...

    Yeh I was setting the slipper clutch I think I may have overheated the motor

    It seems ok ..power is fine just sometimes the motor will squeal and not engage then I release the throttle and try again then it will go. This is a sensorless motor ... have I broke it?

    Yeh you can lower the duel rate so you can't use the full range of the throttle or steering it is on the transmitter you get with the carnage

    Get the brushed version or buy a slower motor

    Guess the vantage has a different stock pinion. .. maybe try a couple of different pinions and check temps see what works best for you.
