  1. All it took was for him to hit the curb at the wrong angle so that all the load went through the front right wheel and it was over. Literally less than 5 mins runtime. I had a spare hub with me but not a spare hub carrier... Took ages to discharge that battery when we got in
  2. ^^^What Jambo said^^^ 4s is quick enough for me and my hyper 7. 6s would be bananas. Here is my sons hyper after hitting a curb at around 30mph: CNC steering knuckle and hub gone. To be fair the steering knuckle already had damage to it and required a larger bolt than original. I've put a standard steering knuckle on it while I wait for a new CNC set to come from China.
  3. Check the wanted section. There was a few people looking for hyper 7's the other day.
  4. Something tells me the SS won't fit. The 7 is pretty fat around the waist and the SS looks like it's quite a bit narrower. I can't be sure though as I've never owned a SS.
  5. I know of a couple people that have used SS shocks. They are supposed to be really nice units. Dunno how they perform in the 7 though. The use of the SS wishbones sounds interesting...
  6. I have a sigma charger which is basically the same thing but with a 6a charger rate. On my one there is no button to give you a reading for what is going on with the cells which is annoying so what I end up doing is putting the battery on storage charge and toggling to the balance screen so I can see each cells voltage.
  7. Spares for the hyper including a new chassis.
  8. I'll order it next time. It will stay in my watch list until then. I'm just trying to watch the pennies as I just got a letter thought the post from inland revenue this morning and they want some money. Talk about timing Thanks again though
  9. Lord knows why there where question marks after my last post. I wasn't being sarcastic or anything bud I genuinely meant thank you. In the end I ordered a standard one for
  10. Ouch. May monday bring you less pain and hurt than your weekend did
  11. Thanks Anthoop. My son chose the colour. Silver would be interesting to try as a backing. What you said about using a bottle is a good idea, I never though of that
  12. It's a bit annoying really. I think it should be standardised. Ohlins springs for motorbikes are rated on how many kilos it takes to compress them 1mm. Surely something similar would make sense for rc springs. Maybe this is already the case but soft medium hard is not really that helpful Imo.
  13. Is this the one you bought Mick? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=191105420097
  14. Yep. Got one in my watch list right now but just worried about spending that money from China to get stung by the rapists, oops I ment customs. Are they the standard length? I ask because I think you can get ones that are slightly longer...
  15. Cheers nitroholic. Yep these are cheap fastrax tyres, I won't bother getting more expensive ones as we normally run on grass/dirt/loose stuff. The onroad is more for winter use as the grass is too muddy and I can't be arsed with the cleaning after a bash. Ironically this time of year there will be no heat in the ground to help with grip. I suppose I need to bias my car towards off road which is seems fine on but I know there are issues with my suspension as it is a bit slow to react. I've started a thread asking about springs that are compatible with the tq2 shocks so I'll wait to see what people say.
  16. ^^^this is very true about the coats. I done my first shell in quite thick coats, thankfully the paint is still sticking to the shell as I've since read thinner is better. That's what I did with the iridescent shell. Still rushed it though... Thanks for the complement, I had a few issues with masking but nothing major. I might try liquid mask next time.
  17. One can is more than enough for a shell unless you are doing large scale. They have a iridescent gold/reddish (I think) colour I'd like to try next time. I wouldn't do the whole car in it though...
  18. I know, I though I'd ask anyway:) Anyone got one? Cheers
