  1. Had my VS out this afternoon at the local golf course and it was awesome, lots of jumps over bunkers and the like. Had a few crashes and tumbles at speed and no breakages, forgot how nice this buggy is after playing around with my Tamiya Boomerang for the last couple of months. Might go out again tomorrow if i get the chance.
  2. Yeah the wheel nuts are not serrated on one side so they will be more liable to come off. Although they shouldn't come off easily.... Glad to hear you got a run tho.
  3. The chassis is the weakest link, i have the buggy version and am on my fourth chassis..it will never bend again though as i have a huge brace on it...of course it will be more dependable than a E Revo as they are terrible lol.
  4. Thats the biggest problem with the trophy cars the chassis is made of cheese, best to come up with some sort of brace to stop it happening again...now that it is bent and been straightened it will now be even weaker!!!
  5. `They should be ok, just check temps of the batteries and look for any swelling.. If you are after a battery thats a good fit for the tray and will fit under the shell with no problems, look at https://www.modelsport.co.uk/overlander-supersport-14-8v-5000mah-30c-lipo-stick-pack-no-con-/rc-car-products/378842.....I have two both over 3 years old and still going strong albeit one is starting to puff up slightly....they also seem punchier than other higher C rating batteries i own.
  6. Yeah with those batteries best keep punch and timing to a moderate level, i would get that 17t pinion on tho for a little extra top end. With your 150amp esc its best to get batteries that at least matches the 150amp just to be on the safe side
  7. When you say slow do you mean top speed or acceleration? Punch controls acceleration so if its a bit slow on the take off maybe notch it up a level or two. If its top speed your looking for try changing the gearing.....but dont go crazy. I changed the stock spur from the 48 to a 46 and run a 19 pinion, with 2000kv motor on 4s its plenty fast for me.
  8. Nice looking setup Ollie, you'll have a blast when you get out in some decent weather lol...
  9. I have a Talion V1 which too has been brilliant. Had it for over 2 years and only ever bent a shock shaft...the only thing you would need to do is make sure the diffs are shimmed correctly, this may have been addressed for the V3 versions tho.
  10. One question, what does the re re boomerang have? Does it have the same as the originals did or is that strange flexible shaft the upgrade?? I would like something stronger aswel.
  11. i'll hopefully get some pics up later, is it a hobbywing motor aswell? Providing you dont go crazy with gearing you should be fine with temps, also 4s should be plenty on this setup.
  12. I think for the money you are willing to part with i would go 1/8th scale, either buggy or truggy. Get the right one and you won't have to worry much about part support because they are the most durable RC's around IMO. Look at the Hyper VS or the Arrma range of 1/8th stuff. You could also look at a 2nd hand HPI Vorza or Losi 8ight.
  13. Just wanted to say good choice with the ESC, i have two and they perform great although the LVC setting on them are never accurate so you will have to mess around with the settings to get things right. Also a note on the Nandas, i've used them for years but they come unglued and the foams break down and turn to dust lol....you get what you pay for...
  14. I know all about the servo mount, i had to cut a little off it fit my servo......pain in the hoop! Also the battery and esc tray are quite small, it can sometimes be a pain to fit the battery and wiring under the body. The car seems pretty tough though as i have yet to break mine..
  15. No worries, any questions about it just ask here or PM me..
  16. With a 5000mah hard case 4s, my VS comes in at 3.9 kg......dont know how accurate this is as it was done on my bathroom scales lol, i think its probably not far off the mark though. It was always going to weigh less than the Vorza as its probably the heaviest 1/8th buggy there is!
  17. Plenty of space for the 4076, no problems there... When it comes to gearing the car comes with a 48 tooth spur gear, i bought the 46 because i wanted a little extra top end speed. I've never had any temp problems (i live in Scotland tho lol), as long as it is short grass you are running on you should be fine. The gears are mod 1.
  18. I run a hobbywing 4274 2000kv in my VSe with 19/46 gearing and one in my Arrma Talion which is a heavier machine, both run perfectly
  19. To anybody that can help.......i'm after a Tamiya Winger body and wing to put on my Boomerang, does anyone know where i can get one from. They were an alternative body you could buy for the boomerang back in the day, i dont want an original Tamiya one as they would cost a fortune but i have heard of aftermarket companies making them, but who? Any help please?! cheers Pete.
  20. Tamiya is where i started, Christmas 90 i got a Grasshopper 2. Now i run brushless 1/8th stuff and its a huge leap forward but i always had a place in my heart for the old Tamiya stuff from the 80's. Just before New year i bought a Tamiya Boomerang in which i'm running a brushless setup and its awesome lol.......none of my other RC's have even been looked at since its arrival.
  21. I have always used WD40 and its always worked out fine, its ok to use on bearings to get them running smooth again as long as you apply a little bearing oil or grease afterwards all will be fine.
  22. Cheers, we are doing no bad....What RC's are you running nowadays?....anything fast or you still crawling/scaling..
  23. Happy new year Rob, hope you had a good one!...
