  1. If it's any consolation it's not just HK. Only today received a tail motor that I had on back order from RC Hero. I paid for it on Aug 31st. Must admit the package contained some extra main and tail blades that I didn't order (contained in original Xtreme packaging), so I guess RC Hero have not been able to get the supplies that they requested.
  2. Never seen one of them before. What you gonna do with it?
  3. Xtreme ally swashplate for the nCPX.
  4. Well, it's been a good learning day for me
  5. In the interest of an unbiased view, after a bit of research; http://www.rg65.co.uk/liposafety.pdf However this doesn't mention damaged or deformed cells. I guess a lot of folks just hit them with a shovel in the garden though and watch them burn.
  6. In fact it advises AGAINST discharging, presumably because it constitutes using a defective battery, dunno.
  7. The guidance ignores steps 2 to 4 if puffed, as in the OP
  8. This is a few years old, so must be wrong in that case;
  9. Perhaps the OP could test it by doing a salt bath then cutting the wires shorter to eliminate corrosive insulation (?) and testing the voltage.
  10. I thought the conductivity in the salt water caused a short between the terminals which discharged the pack.
  11. Do any of you buy magazines for heli's? Are these hard print or e-versions. Most importantly for me, which is the best value for money? Thanks
  12. Yeah, some of the daughters loom bands, just stops yaw on the wooden floor during spool up, or down. Tried to find some rubber grommets but didn't want to pay for any
  13. I use nickel zinc rechargables, and charger from Maplins. 1.6v per cell, 2500mWh, negligible discharge. They even operate those eflite portable charger thingies for the nCPX (about 15 charges). The charger is no good for any other type of battery chemistry though.
  14. I get shaky tail when the tail rotor is slightly bent. If it shakes too fiercely all types of weird things happen and it falls from the sky. I think the AS3X system has a "what the hell is that moment" and freaks out. Easy to fix though
  15. Ah - just realised I won't be able to monitor battery voltage.
  16. Hi all. I've converted an automotive (cigarette lighter type) 40w soldering iron to run off a 3s. Just one question, is it ok to charge the battery with the balance lead (already got a spare e-sky charger) whilst using the iron (from main power leads) if I get caught out with a not fully charged batt?
  17. Thinking about converting my mountain bike to an e-bike with a 48v 1000watt kit off eBay and powering it with Lipos. Anyone already done this and got any tips? Thanks in advance. Gary
  18. Right, if the pros think its a good idea, it's a done deal in my view; http://youtu.be/dRYdArrKMVI
