  1. One of the GoolRC 3000kv to 3500kv combos I think. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GoolRC-F540-3000KV-Brushless-Motor-with-45A-ESC-Combo-for-1-10-RC-Car-Truck-H5N2/152877570446?epid=711224496&hash=item239836998e:g:fokAAOSwOYFaZv47 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GoolRC-Waterproof-3650-3500KV-Brushless-Motor-with-60A-ESC-for-1-10-RC-Car-D6V1/182711254972?epid=22010939915&hash=item2a8a707fbc:g:I7kAAOSwZA1ZjDSi John
  2. Unboxing Hardcase 5200mah 2s LiPo fits fine. Need to change the battery connector though. Will use XT60s.
  3. Yup 42 quid delivered for the RTR version.
  4. I’ll be raiding the spare parts box as much as possible. Don’t want to spend much on it. Cheap and cheerful is the way. Did order a couple of clear spare body sets for it. At just over 3 quid each well worth it. John
  5. I Fitted a 3500kv GoolRC combo and it was just right. John
  6. What with the Hobbywing sale on the Desert Fox RTR a few days ago think a few members have bought one so an owners thread seems like a good idea. I’ll be unpacking mine shortly and will see what mods it needs. John
  7. One box arrived at 6:48 this morning and the other at the national hub. John
  8. The full size versions are described as Dersert Racing Buggys.
  9. I fitted a 17t Tuned motor and it really livened it up. Now fitted a brushless motor so will see what speed it has. Have an RC4WD two speed transmission that I might try if I want more speed. John
  10. Should be. I’ll open it in a few minutes. I was still in bed when the driver rang the doorbell so it was one of those jump out of bed and throw on a bath robe moments. John
  11. It was an eBay seller a few months ago. Can’t find the details now. A few people on here bought them and the seller ran out of stock in a couple of hours. John
  12. Parcelforce delivered this box at 6:48 this morning.
  13. The Floureon 5200mah 2s 30C work fine but tried Turnigy Graphene 6000mah 2s 90C which did have a lot more punch but was using a HW ESC. with an Ares motor. Picked up the Floureon LiPos on sale at £3.49 each delivered. Crazy price
  14. Just checked and Eurocarparts offers free economy delivery but think there is a minimum spend to qualify.
  15. My second order is now showing as shipped so in a few days hopefully will all be here.
  16. If you’ve got a Eurocarparts place locally they get Tamiya paints in next day to order.
  17. If you have to mail order them the paints have to be shipped by courier so I tend to buy a few cans at one time. 5 or 6 quid is the average price for the regular colours. John
  18. These Tamiya PS paints are for polycarbonate shells. One can will do a shell.if it’s not too big. Allow four light coats. The F150 shell for the Mauler will take nearly two though. Then you’ll need a can for the backing colour.but only two light coats needed for that. Ps-31 smoke is used to tint the windows but one can will do many shells as very little is used.
  19. The Mauler seems like it would suit and the ability to accept Axial parts means it can be upgraded later on. Highly capable completely stock but stock servo is rubbish. Very slow and limited travel but I’m sure you’ll have something suitable in the spares box. John
  20. One lot shipped today and the other packed and about to be shipped. John
  21. You can get about 30mph out of a stock brushed Outlaw on 3s. Over 50mph brushless. The Outback is a small trail truck but because of it’s small size struggles to cope with anything too rough. Fun little truck though. Outback with aa pickup ,body compared to Mauler.
  22. For general crawling and trail running the Mauler would be ideal. The Outlaw is faster but more of a rock racer than crawler. Also the Mauler is ideal for modding. Axial axles wil fit and an Axial transmission should fit so if you’ve got some spare axial bits could be used for upgrading in the future if you wanted too. My rather modded brushless Mauler is ready for paint. Many axial bits added. John
