  1. after refitting the left hand front dog bone back in for what seem's like the millionth time, i gave up and ordered some universal drive shaft's... let's hope these stay in.... on the other hand i did give it some abuse and it did bloody well....
  2. for some reason I very rarely get any cold call's, despite having a home phone, personal mobile and work mobile, the last one I had was on the work phone, while I was underneath a trailer adjusting the brakes, the I got the call, answered it, turned out to be some ppi thng, I put it on loud speaker, had some lass talking to me about claiming ppi, it got that boring that I put the phone speaker next to the park/shunt valve on the trailer and pulled the park, (that dump's 10bar or so of air out of the brake's creating a loud noise) she wasn't there when I asked if she was ok..... the one I remember the most was one my dad got, he was a truck driver, and his truck had a built in cab phone, one day he got a phone call on it from vodaphone, asking if he would like to upgrade his phone, to another.. he did say it was a company phone, and was told that's ok, and he did ask them if the bloke on the phone knew what company this phone was registered to, he responded with j.bloggs transport limited. it finally dawned on him that it was a cab phone......
  3. right, managed to get an early finish from work, (started at 6am finished by 10.30 am) so popped in to my local model shop, picked up a couple of can's of paint, and also had a bit of a mad moment, and bought a hpi pre painted drift car 1/10 shell, just so I could get using it. and also some pre mounted rally block tyre, put it all together, and wow, what brilliant bit of kit to use, now the tyre's are bedded in, it just grip's and go's on any surface, couple of thing's I need to sort out though need to make some sort of mud wing's to stop debris getting in to the pan, jamming the drive train and steering system up, and also help protect the radio gear, thinking of making it out of plasticard. it did end up on the beach, and boy It handle's not like I expected it to, and I found it not that bad to clean it, used a little bit of electrical cleaner, a soft new paint brush, and the vacuum cleaner. as for run time, I got about 35min's in total, on tarmac, loose gravel, compacted sand, and grass. so i'm really impressed. well worth the wait to get it going. was gonna get it out again tomorrow, but I've been asked to guard tomorrow, so never mind...
  4. right, the spare part's have arrived after landing in the uk from japan, had a late finish tonight at work, so will crack on with It tomorrow.
  5. went to the shop in person the other day, as I had to return a t20 pinion and get some bearing's for my tt02, cracking service, will use them again.
  6. it's one of those thing's, I've had worse happen, bought a car once, absolutely mint condition, not a mark on it anywhere on it, less than 24hrs later, me and another vehicle made contact with each other, que new wing, bumper, door's and rear quarter gutted wasn't the word to describe it... should have the replacement part's with me tomorrow. and lucky I didn't have the shell on as i'm waiting for 3 thing's for it.... the paint, should have it this weekend, in between fire lighting, lineside clearance, looking a brake's on the car and something else I've forgotten the good weather to paint it in, (no shed to paint it in...) and confidence to paint it....
  7. well that was good, got it all sorted and set up, had a little "play" around the house with it, and left it at that. anyway took it out for a spin after work, setting up the trim for the steering, nearly had it sorted, and I got distracted and it hit a wall... and broke the n.s.f hub.... I think the term i'm looking for is bugger....
  8. yeah, realised my mistake, the kit one is ally, so will get that sorted asap, will deal with that next weekend. it's nearly all together, just the bit I'm dreading now... electric's and then painting of the body.....
  9. had a look through the kit, and found a metal pinion in there, so that'll be ok, popped up to the model sport shop today (yeah Grimsby to Otley) sorted out some bearing's for it and got started on it about an hour and a half later... got the diff's and drive shaft's built and greased as required, and all the upper suspension arm's fitted and the foam's fitted in the tyre's after many year's of building airfix, and the like's model's, the quality and the lack of flashing on the kit's and the instruction's are really good to some that I have attempted to build...
  10. the TT02 has arrived a day early, really happy, just dawned on me how many part's there are..... looking forward to it, gonna sort the bearing's and pinion out tomorrow at the modelsport shop, as i'm in the area....
  11. well citylink bought me my TT02 Subaru xv, it'll give me summit to do while i'm on call this weekend...
  12. my postie droped off a T20 pinion, for a car that is out of stock...
  13. hopefully by Friday next week I shall have in my possession a Subaru XV running on a TT02 chassis. cheaper than the swift as well. now before I get carried away returning the other bit's that have been ordered, as in the steel pinion and bearing's the pinion that come's with tt02 is a 22T and the steel pinion that was ordered for the swift is a 20T, was thinking in stead of all the hassle of returning it and getting a 22T sent out, would I be able to fit a 20T instead of a 22T?
  14. first of all, sorry for the double post, every time I went to try and edit the above, it froze.... had a look through fusion hobbies web site, and found this, http://www.fusionhobbies.com/product/58567-tamiya-subaru-xv-tt02 did a bit of research on it and it seem to be a fairly recent addition to the range. and tbh, I think this may be better over all than the M05RA... as for the bearing's and pinion that have been ordered I'll speak to them and get them returned...
  15. well that was good, ordered everything last night, bearing's, pinion and the car. got a phone call from fusion hobbies today telling me they haven't got any cars on the M05RA chassis..... so i'm ****** now, so now got look at other option's now, I think i'm looking at Hong Kong.... didn't really want to though....
