  1. run a 15t Firebolt as mentioned above in my old skool Tamiya fighter buggy, with a 15t esc (cant remember brand) I upgraded just about everything else with it too: tyres, shocks, pinions, bearings etc it was still uncontrollable, but then again it was 2wd!!
  2. this is the problem I seem to be having, I have reversed the channels (in the pic on bottom left of pic I flicked it down) but me and my father in law both swear it runs faster in reverse; I might un reverse the channels and run red to black wires etc.. thanks
  3. Hi everyone, I have purchased myself a new rc buggy - after spending far too much on my Tamiya fighter buggy rx I have upgraded to a 4WD HSP XSTR Microtron - reviews seemed pretty good and with the possibility of brushless etc. I plan on putting my 15t clash motor in and esc set up etc.. I only paid
  4. Scarecrow - replace the shocks with alloy ones 100% - the improvement is immense. I have a 15t motor in mine and it rockets, uncontrollable its going to be brushless isn't it? I can tell
  5. I love em, ive had my fighter buggy for about 15, would be interested to some of your projects, cheers
  6. Thanks very much - hopefully it'll look a lot different to most fighter buggies

  10. ill have a look thanks for the tip, soon this car be ready to go lol
  11. right before this thing becomes the death of me - we have yet another issue lol (I know they're often simple but so frustrating.) so ive just received my standard Tamiya fighter FRONT wheels (much appreciated Noj) but they dnt seem to fit?? I was running mad bull wheels (as per pic) it seems the shafts are too long now???? ive just measured it and they roughly 2.8cm long (at some point have I put longer wheel shafts on?????) as currently the wheels slide left and right. I know I must have done something silly here. Thanks.
  12. perfect thank you - ill inspect it, cheers for the advice
  13. soo - major update time.. Have new ansmann oil filled shocks fitted, which really help the handling, wider rear tyres and standard front tyres on their way (thanks to 'Noj') brand new 15t motor complimented by an Anderson 15t ESC. If anybody saw I picked up an unknown nitro Tamiya lexan shell - I have cut and chopped that and its almost ready to fit!! couple of points, I find it really hard to tighten one of the rear wheel nuts - it goes on so tight but after that it spins the shaft and therefore the motor, and then the wheel just wobbles. This then in turn wont make the car run under load. Anyone know why this happens, does something need greasing? Thanks.
  14. all up and running - thanks guys - yep I chopped the posts off and mounted it flush - its pretty nippy; cant wait to fit the new 15t motor!!!
  15. sorry guys - I wasn't thinking at all - its running ok now I tried editing but you guys are too fast - I need help with mounting it all now
  16. Hi everyone - not having much luck with my fighter buggy as of late lol any ideas where to mount everything in the chassis with my esc and servos etc heres how it looks - thanks.

  19. Hi everyone - im getting in a right old muddle here - im looking at purchasing some new wheels for my vintage Tamiya fighter buggy rx model using dt01/2 chassis which has a 12mm hex rear fitment and uses bearing in axle on the front - I cant seem to find any wheels to fit the front?????? I have some 12mm hex dish rears but no fronts - all the replacements I can seem to find say 'pin fitment' is this the same as bearing fitment? sorry for the long post - any help appreciated, thanks.
  20. ok are there any adapters you can get to make fit/ any recommendations for some cheap fronts? thanks
  21. Right so I have just taken stock of a set of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260717749453?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I got these for virtually nothing etc and looked at fitting them to my Tamiya Fighter Buggy RX DT01 chassis. Am I right in thinking the rear is hex driven and the front is bearing over axel? will these fit, and what will I need? any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  22. Here we go again lol I'm looking at upgrading the pinion now - ive had a little look on the gearing thread and its very in-depth. would a 17t pinion go well with my 21t motor - im looking at mostly acceleration, but would like a happy medium. Im looking at therw racing one as mentioned a few pages back. Thanks,
  23. doesn't look like it'll arrive either - been over a week since it was posted - well for the money I thought it may be worth a shot - I did know it was a nitro car. Thanks though.
