  1. Does anyone know of a Database for Stolen / lost  RC?  I can't find one, and wonder if we should perhaps have one.  I ask as I see a known toe rag selling / swapping stuff that seems beyond his means.  Of course said toe rag could be legit but it got me thinking.

That's my thought - not to post pics of things that look stolen - but for owners to post pics of things that have been - or lost in the post etc.

ie Fred posts a pic of his YXL that he posted to a buyer.  Buyer never received it, myherpes lost it during delivery.

Barry see's a yxl for sale locally - he's seen Fred's in the stolen thread and reports the seller to his local police.

All we'd be doing here is allowing people a place to post images of items they've had stolen, strict rules about the thread -  inc no comments at all.  Should someone maliciously claim they'd had something stolen then I;m sure the liability ends with them - freedom of speech etc.

The difficulty is proof of course - both in positive ID and that said toe rag might not have nicked an item, but if it IS the RC in question then the police recover it to the legitimate owner - the toe rag who bought a stolen RC loses out - but he has the chance to point the police to the person he acquired it from if he's totally legitimate himself.

I can't see it being any more useful than people doing what they do now which is post some pictures and info up if they are unlucky enough to have something pinched or lost in transit somewhere.

As per my original reply, it would still become more open to people trying to pull the wool over and/or owners getting there cars back and thinking they are the thieves.

Probably best left the way it is.

Wait for proof of being stolen i say.

I RC way above my means too.
