  1. RPM's are the way to go! given mine alot of abuse and never broke a RPM item.
  2. I run a 10T etronix( same as leopard) in my slash on 2s lipo and have had no issues with heat. Can't remember what my gearing is but could look later if you like! I'm going to step up to full 540 motor this winter as the etronix does a great job but know it could be faster with a 540 in it.
  3. Modelsport sent me a decal sheet with my pro line bodyshell. Check your box as I was tearing mine up and putting it in the bin when the decal sheet fell out!
  4. I have a slash 2wd that I use on skate parks and it takes the abuse even with a LCG chassis. I recommend the RPM bumpers as they take a lot of hits with no problems!
  5. I think Tooleys shop in Northampton have done talks at schools around the local area.My boys school are asking for parents to introduce hobbys to the kids so when he is a bit older i might get involved with the school!
  6. My mate just got a vintage clod buster and ninja for
  7. From what ive seen in person and on the net people think they can take something like a traxxas slash put a big motor in it and then launch it 20 or 30feet in the air and then bitch that it broke something! I bash my slash around country parks and small skate parks and aint broke a thing on it.
  8. That sucks! I've run my slash for two summers now and not had a diff issue. Race it,break it,fix it and repeat!
  9. I own two traxxas cars(jato and slash 2wd) and cant fault them. The jato is stock and ive not broke a thing on it. The slash was great stock and never broke but i put loads of hop ups on it anyway. The slash is now brushless on lipos and the stock trans, clutch and driveshafts are still going strong. I would buy traxxas again!
  10. More photos are in my profile gallery if you fancy a look
  11. Yep they are rpm bumpers and mud flaps. You have to buy them separately though. The bumpers are really strong and have taken a lot of abuse from me. The body is a pro line f150. As just rolling said look at the lcg chassis it transforms the trucks handling completely.
  12. I've only got a etronix brushless set up in mine at the mo but it's quick enough for chasing the boy around country parks on his bike and flys through the air well too. Going for a hobbywing set up next.
  13. Hi just rolling, ive done the lcg chassis coversion on mine and its like a different truck now. I tried the big bore shocks from traxxas before the lcg but they didnt make much differance. The other things ive done is rpm bumpers and A arms just for strength and believe me the rpm bumper is VERY strong. Not looked at the 17mm hex as i find the stock wheels and tyres are fine for bashing on loose dirt. Have fun!
  14. Hi flash, good choice of truck. I have a 2wd slash and it was brushed when I got it and I ran it on 2s lipo with no problems before switching to brushless! I've had no problems with my servo being hit by anything so wouldn't worry about it. The stock bearings were ok for a while but the rubber seal soon came off allowing dirt in so replaced them but defiantly got my money's worth out of the stock ones first. As for shocks everyone says buy powerstrokes but I couldn't afford them so I went with traxxas big bores but they didn't make much difference so was gutted, I have now put the traxxas lcg chassis on it and it's amazing! With the big bores on the truck is very stable(havent rolled it since fitting the lcg) and instead of under steering really bad like before it digs into turns now and kicks the rear end round nicely. I'm still running stock tyres on mine and they are good enough for bashing. Have fun and think about the lcg chassis! It's the best thing I've done to my slash.
  15. I've been looking at getting a hobbywing set up for my slash. Where did you get yours from? Seen them on ebay but all the sellers seem to be in china and have dodgy feedback.
  16. One more thing, looking at hobbywing as everyone raves about them so where is the best place to get them at a good price?
  17. Cheers guys, time to spend some money!
  18. So im finally going to up grade my 2wd slash to a 540 brushless motor(currently running a etronix photon setup) but im confused about what kv i should be looking for. Im currently running 3930kv so should i stay around that number?
  19. Hi, how are you getting on with this motor on your photon esc? Is this a 540 motor
  20. I've done the 2wd lcg and I didn't use the new front springs as I'm running big bores and the springs didn't fit. Not run it in anger yet but up the street it's loads better than standard.
  21. Forgot to say i got mine from modelsport http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/uploads/gallery_29927_3518_1467908.jpg
