  1. Totally with you there mate, first modification on my list was separate batteries for the lift/thrust... the lift fan can just run flat out and then im thinking of linking the rear motors together and making some servo actuated rudder fins instead of the independent fans...
  2. Possibly Alex, I might look into a job lot of aero stuff, i don't plan to chuck money at it like I do with my trucks, this is more of a muck about project...
  3. So... fulfilled a childhood desire recently and bought myself one of these on the cheap... It does work, I've done the standard bath test and it works alot better on water than any other surface... Now, to monster it... any ideas lads? bear in mind weight is the enemy, i dont want to go too mad with it, but a bit more power and/or mods will be entertaining...
  4. Cheers John, getting more and more tempted to bite the bullet and get some 4 way link action going on...
  5. A couple of new pics... nice bit of axle twist... be better after ive done the 4 way links... Aussie Piggybacks...
  6. I'm a Rider (and a very, very occasional driver!) but I make do with a (1!) mountain bike, a pretty sweet one but it'll never match the expense of RC!!!
  7. I'd have paid up to 150 for it, + 20 quid postage, i think i got a bargain!
  8. shaven haven trumps furry muff hands down...!!
  9. All I said was I got a pair of bonnet vents the next day!! i dont even like the poxy friggin thing (car) anymore....
  10. Project Clodbuster Update! There's a lot less to report than id like! I got my piggyback shocks from Australia, got them fitted and they look awesome, they're a bit hard though, I'm going to drill the shock pistons out so they go a bit floppy, and I'm giving Johninderby's 4 way links some serious thought, I would make the axle shock mounting bracket but I think it'll effect the castor angle of the uprights and muller any handling it may have, 4 way links are the only way to eliminate that... I've also raided the old Lego box again in the interest of my rear bumper, never thought it'd need a wheelie bar but I was wrong, so I've mounted a 20mm wheel on either side of it to stop it hitting the ground, and the longer you can make a wheelie, the better, right?! they're monstrously long!! still waiting for a new spur gear for the brushless thunder tiger, the hobbywing and power wheelies lunched the original...!!
  11. What's 'novathetop' about it?! its very subtle as nova's go...!
  12. I've waited longer for stuff from 'London'... or so they say... its 'the_twokeytwokeybird' on ebay, hes an RC enthusiast and appreciates that stuff shouldn't cost a fortune, hes got some uber-cool bits too.... and very reasonably priced, my 4 piggyback shocks cost me 31 quid, and theyre really well made, not a shred of plastic on them!
  13. So, my piggyback shocks got here, all the way from New South Wales, Australia in 7 days, puts some UK sellers/our postal service to shame...
