Cheers Guns, couldn't find any info on what was different between the two types!

Morning all, can someone tell me if this style traxxas connector is compatible with the new traxxas ID connector? Building a car for my boy and wanted a Nimh battery for it but noticed traxxas have this new ID connector out but can't find out if they work with this esc! cheers guys.

I have a 2wd slash(brushed xl5 spec) and it's a blast! I brought it off eBay cheap and stuck a 2s lipo in it and was off. The handling is the big draw back as it is easy to roll but was fun to bash with and I ran it stock for about a year. I then upgraded the heck out of it with rpm parts, brushless motor, pro line wheels and tyres but the best upgrade is the LCG chassis! The chassis upgrade transformed the handling. ebay and Internet shops are full off parts for the slash so no need to worry about spares but when mine was stock I only broke one shock absorber!

I started my lad on the Ripmax 1/18 range. He was 4 at the time and it was perfect for him to learn the controls. I've looked at the skully before but don't want to spend that kind of money at this stage! In a few years if he is still interested in RC then I will look to proper upgrade his kit!

So my boy(age 6) has become very competent with his ripmax coyote and now gets to have a go with my slash without me having to worry about him taking peoples ankles out. So what do i get him next? i want to get him a 1/10 off roader but so many options. Ive been keeping an eye out on e bay for a second hand Traxxas stampede, bandit or rustler but find that second hand traxxas hold their money well so i am leaning towards a brand new FTX bugster. Whats the general opinion on the FTX stuff? i know for that money they are not going to be as tough as a Traxxas or HPI but thought it would do a 6 year old just fine! Whats your thoughts guys? Try the LCG chassis! Fitted one to mine and it transformed the handling!

Got round to it again. Rear diff and suspension cleaned and reassembled!

Broke the transmission in the 2wd slash at the weekend and was wondering if there are any upgrades on the market! I know rpm and traxxas do upgraded cases but was looking for better shafts,gears and pins! cheers

Glad its working for you. Mine has always been slack around the front hub area but mine doesn't have bearings only bushes!

Cleaned up the motor while it was a bit quiet at work today!

i had this problem with my alpha ten when i first got it in the 90s. you need to space the front drive shafts so that they are pushed further into cup at the wheel end. I used a bit of fuel pipe and put it in the cup on the gearbox. never had a problem after that apart from it kept destroying the front gear box so i took the main shaft out and ran it as a 2wd. Ive just started a thread about mine called project alpha!

Today I decided to dig out my first nitro RC car and start restoring it back to its original condition. It's a Kyosho pure ten alpha which came with a Impreza wrc shell but didn't last long so put the pick up shell on.

Just finished this new shell for the slash! Not a fan of fan of the traxxas shells but it was cheap and I need a new shell!

The coyote shell doesn't fix on like conventional bodys(four posts) it has a hinge at the front of the chassis which the body bolts onto. Think it would take some work to make it fit the husky!

spoke to hpi and they said they would send me a new car as mines not charging properly! Cant complain about that!

Evening all, I got the boy the D8t version and after about 15 charges it's started playing up! If you pull full trigger it will cut out after about 2seconds and then you have to leave it about 5seconds before it will do anything again. Anyone else had this problem?

The LCG chassis is the best thing I've done to my slash! Completely changed the handling!

Very clean! Cant remember the last time i saw a clean slash! Good choice on the LCG chassis, its the best thing ive done to mine! Have fun!
